Felling a little conflicted: I have an interview to exit consulting into industry. They are offering a 50% increase in salary, no travel. On the other hand, I love my current team and client but...
Generalist🐠at MBB: do corp dev roles at FAANG, or operational VC/PE roles, care that you were a “generalist” when exiting? I’ve been approached for data analytics roles at MBB (some specialized), but everyone tells me to go generalist when starting....
When you drive your own car to a client site where you are staying in a hotel, do you also charge the mileage of driving around the city during the week or just the there and back?
Question: The company that you are working for offers cloud managed services and has been approached by a potential client. What are some areas (or red flags) you would consider before responding to their RFP? ( I started putting together a response but would love to get your insights) Answer: 1) Understanding of current annual spending vs spending if they adopted our cloud services 2) Clients expected growth rate 3) Regulatory requirements depending on industry (medical, fed etc)
Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?
So I’m about to be let go because my project is ending in two weeks. I started looking for a jobs about 4 months ago. For many of the jobs, I was met with the salary range question during the recruiter interview. I didn’t give a range right away but I also wasn’t moving forward as gave recruiters resistance. After about a couple months, and no movement, I finally gave a range for a position and I moved forward to interview and ultimately job offer.…
Hi.. I am a director at big4 management consulting covering financial services strategy and operations. Looking for reference for experienced hire positions in MBB India. Please dm of you can help. Thanks
Sabotaging the shoot at every opportunity because you’re angry your boyfriend didn’t get to direct it isn’t going to magically make the client trust your creative decisions the next time around.
Anyone’s firm use OTG time for a timesheet? It constantly ruins the time entered into my timers when I switch back and forth. For example, I was billing to a client and had 3.4 hours or so. Then when I switched back to the matter later in the day, it had gone to 5.2. It happens to 3-4 timers throughout the day. What’s the point of having a timer if it doesn’t even properly track time? Anyone have suggestions for a different timer I can use? I end up losing time because I always round down.
Fair to assume all of MBB to be “Thought Leaders” in Media & Entertainment? If not, what consulting firms are?
How would you rank the non-MBB strategy shops? Including strategy “divisions” within larger firms
MBB, and particularly Big 4 fish - How much of your time do you spend on internal marketing of your services, internal recruitment to your service line? None, Some, Much or Lot.
Anyone from OW (or anywhere not MBB) willing to pass on a UG resume for a Black female looking for full-time? (assuming recruiting for FT is still open)
How is Kearney ME in terms of project and wlb vs. mbb and tier 2? I have an offer to join them from Europe and trying to decide if worth the move
Will getting 2 years of experience as a strategy & ops manager in financial services pigeon hole me in that industry. Not in love with the space but think it could compliment 2 years at MBB quite well. Not too eager to stay in consulting and get promoted
Currently 2 YOE in process improvement consulting, thinking about trying to lateral to MBB. What should I be considering to ensure this is the right decision for me (worse WLB is not an issue), and does anyone have any advice re: what my story should highlight if I do choose to try to make the jump?
Best luggage for travel? Just got consulting job at MBB and looking to buy some new stuff.
My career goal isn’t to make it to MBB or a unicorn or FAANG. It’s to feel fulfilled and challenged as I progress. I can’t be the only one that isn’t title or company chasing.
Received negative feedback from my manager for the first time, I’ve been working for a few months now and this is the first time it’s happened; over arching theme was quality of work and communications etc. feel really shitty about it and I’m not sure how to deal - any fellow female fishies have words of advice or anecdotal insights, did you manage to turn it around? I really want to do a good job and take this very seriously - def want to leave the project on good terms with the manager
Hello fishes. Currently I am working at PwC in an ERP project. I want it get a release from this project due to numerous reasons. What is the way to process with this?
So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
Is all the talk of layoffs on here a harbinger to the end of the ad agency? Or do people just like complaining? A little from column A, a little from column B?
Do the increased fees to clients and lower commissions to wholesalers raise any alarm to those invested in PIMCO Income (PONAX)?
Got a verbal confirmation on a role at a new firm and i accepted, i was told i ll get the offer letter soon , how long does it normally take for the offer letter to come through ?
Hear me out. Work part time remote, part time in-agency, and live in another city. Rent a studio near the agency. Insane? Love the job opportunity but can’t move my family right now. Am I kidding myself?
increasingly wary of the concept of "cultural fit". wouldn't you want a diversity of personalities? isn't it important for business to have at least one skeptic in the room?
Thinking about “jumping firms” sometime soon. I’m a Senior Consultant, and truly, I’m just chasing money (and maybe work life balance). So, I’m curious; which firms are the best with regards to transfer pay, company culture, wellbeing, etc? Are there any firms I should avoid?
Any recs for office chair within $100 range? Asking for a baby sister who’s a broke college student. Doesnt have to b fancy/super fancy but something that r of decent quality… i know its a stretch to ask for this budget🤣
Applying for NYU One Year Tech MBA for May 2021 start. I’m currently making 120k. I can probably hit 200k in 5 years but I’m also 34. Is it worth it to get my MBA and pay 140k to work at MBB or FAANG?
Tax experts- what qualifies as a hardship withdrawal from your 401k? I got a over a 100k saved in my 401k but maxed out on credit due to student loans and a family situation.
Why does PwC need layoffs again if the business is doing well? Also, curious to know what are the other “business reasons” when your util and snapshots are great?
Thinking about moving to a big city with the following preferences. I am thinking about Dallas, philly, or Chicago. What’s your experience living in those cities? Is there any other city I am missing? 1. Growing economy and population 2. Great food scene and things to do as a young professional 3. Relative LCOL can’t afford housing in NY, SoCal, etc. 4. Diversity of culture especially a bigger Chinese presence
I am planning to move back to India. What is the best way to deal with 401k? Should I withdraw?
Hi fishes, Can anyone provide inputs about the wfh policy/announcements for the coming months in ZS India offices. Heard they might opt hybrid model, can someone confirm? TIA ZS Associates
Where do you work, and what educational benefits does your employer provide? Currently working full time and taking some classes toward my master’s. I’ve been at my firm for a little over 2 years as it was my first gig out of undergrad. It provides an annual stipend for education, but I’m bored, unchallenged, unfulfilled, and underpaid. I want to explore what other companies offer to make an educated decision as to whether I should go elsewhere. TIA!
How do you deal with bad Google reviews? In my case, it's an angry beneficiary, not even my client.
