Coolest places you've traveled in Finance?
Sounds like you aren't focused on earning points, but big thing with Residence Inn and Town Place Suites is that you earn half as many points as all other properties. Courtyard, Fairfield, and Spring Hill Suites are on the lower end, safe bet is to go for whichever is newest/most recently renovated. JW Marriotts are generally the best (without getting into the Ritz and Edition properties), followed by Renaissance, then generic Marriotts and Autograph. Since Autographs were former independent hotels, quality can vary a lot by property, but they can be quirkier. https://skift.com/2016/09/21/every-one-of-marriotts-30-hotel-brands-explained/

You’re better than this. I believe in you.
That’s disgusting and fraud... no I have not. You are a consultant getting paid good money. Don’t try to pawn it. And also remember. PwC does random audits... that would become termination for cause
In addition to the above, remember that AMEX transmits way more transactional data to the firm than you see online or in theT&E app. This is why we no longer have to submit hotel receipts for instance. A miles purchase or an extra flight itinerary will show as such, and the latter will include the routing, record locator, passengers booked and flight details.
If you have to ask about it, it’s probably at least invalid and possibly theft. It never ceases to amaze me how many people pad expenses and wind up losing a high paying job as a result.
Why would you have to pawn it off as anything if it was a personal expense???
The personal Amex Gold and Platinum cards have an annual credit for ancillary fees with airlines ($100 for gold/$200 for platinum). Amex is a bit cryptic on what fees will count for this credit. It sounds like OP wants to know if anyone has gotten the credit from Amex for purchasing points.
No that's a terrible idea
What kind of thinking puts a $100k+ job at risk over a few $k tops in reward miles? Probably the kind that should have gotten weeded out for a round.
Whoa whoa, fishes. I meant using my personal Amex
So what are you trying to do then? Buy miles and fraudulently expense them? Also, remember you need to submit receipts for anything that’s not a taxi over $25.
Just to be certain, you know that buying miles only gets you redeemable miles and not status, right?
I want to use up my $200 incidental credit before year end
I guess I’m still a bit lost on what you’re trying to do here. If you have a credit for airline spend on a personal card, which sounds like the credit on an AMEX Platinum card, then use it and be done with it. What did you mean by “pawn it off as ‘Incidental’”? If you’re looking to somehow expense that to the firm, which is what we all assumed, then that’s obviously a no-go.
