I’ve done it for about 6 years now and enjoy it. There is a lot more work than you think. Must be good with communication, deadlines, and prioritizing projects.

Also, I have a client who thinks I’m available 24/7 even when I am not

THIS. Set HARD boundaries. If you don't you will regret it later.

Thank you for sharing! Do you mind sharing where you found the job?

I got started on Upwork. I have since transitioned off but do still have an account in the event I take on another client. They do take a cut but usually around 3 months you can just level with the client and move off.

I tried it once but couldn’t find a decent paying job.

M&A/PE associate (trying to juggle multiple deals) feeling like I don’t have time to dive deeper into issues and it being highlighted in some of my work product as I am having to turn things right away and just pushing things out - so issues I may have caught if I had a better/deeper/higher level understanding are more apparent when partners review. Truly feeling like I’m just messing up all around but trying to give myself grace. How do you know if it’s just you or a part of the process?

I’m looking at doing a side gig doing professional mentoring, interview preparation and resume design/building/editing for some supplemental income. I’ve been doing it informally for a couple years with folks in my network and to much success. Folks have recommended I branch out and start charging for the hours I spend on it. I actually enjoy it and very savvy in the federal government world and consulting. Anyone know where i could start or be connected into doing this?
