I had an OB with my first and even with a doula I did not have a good birthing experience. Second I had a group of midwives delivering at a hospital (and had OBs in the practice if needed), during course of pregnancy I saw each midwife and least once. Amazing birth experience, didn’t even check my cervix for dilation, time in the tub, she was a great advocate and I strongly regret not having a midwife the first time.
I had a midwife and it was a great experience for the most part was even able do go nonmedicated.
My own apprehension was that I developed polyhydomosis and because of the lack of invasiveness I never knew I had or when I first developed it until the very end when I got induced
