So I’ve gotten the AmEx Platinum offer for 150K bonus points (Gold for 75K). I have another corporate card so the annual fee is $550. Even without considering the statement credits, centurion lounge, etc… it’s worth it for the bonus alone right? Like 150K points > $550, and I get the perks as free benefit. I’d plan to downgrade in 1 year. Any thoughts?
Hi, please advise and apologies if it's a dumb question. currently filling out the h1b visa transfer form by fragomen and there is this previous US stay section. What does receiving country refer to? I assume it's the states coz they are asking for visa type. Can someone please advise and confirm? 🙏
Getting married next month and we’d like to have a joint checking account to cover shared expenses, however I don’t want to miss out on all the points I can rack up by consistently using my delta platinum card (spending thresholds = point bonuses, etc). Also my credit card bill will likely be a mix of shared and personal expenses, so how do couples go about this? Open to any advice. Thanks!
As a consultant, I should be supplied with an ice scraper in my rental car so that I don't need to scrape the windshield with my corporate AmEx on a chilly morning in Memphis.
I booked flights using Chase portal - The flights are cheaper now do they price match? First time using the service just wanted to use all my reward points.
URGENT - Does anyone know if US consulates in Mexico are doing regular visa stamping for third country nationals at this point?
Is there a way to apply to jobs in Canada if you are working in USA on work visa? Do Canadian companies provide visa sponsorship for eligible candidates currently based in US?
Hey fish! Have a question on work authorization. If I have an H1B and wife’s on the dependent EAD (after I-140) and I go out of country to work with same company. Does her EAD still continue to be valid? Or does it invalidate the moment the primary visa holder is out of the US.
Parents turn 70 next year. I’m trying to figure out what to expect, how to prepare for retirement, etc. Any suggestions? Feeling overwhelmed, not sure where to start. They live in India while I’m in Canada and no chance of bringing them over right away ( will take 3 years or so, based on visa timelines). They are mobile right now but we had a bad scare where dad was hospitalized overnight and I can see that they need someone for these once a year events ( which will probably get more frequent).
NAFTA VISA (TN) Holders: has anyone switched groups within the same company and had to re-apply for TN? I’m looking for ways to move to other group, which will likely have a different job description
New to this…with Amex Platinum what is the best / most economical use of your points? I see you can cover charges on the card as well.
I've received 2 offers to FAANG companies this year as Sr Product Mgr, got along brilliantly with the teams, but ultimately neither were willing to help process my visa in this climate. I know folks have it more rough, but feeling pretty bummed out.
A lot of you have been talking about visa issues around H1B.. I’m a Canadian citizen planning to do an MBA in USA. Would those same issues also apply to me? I have no idea about current visa processes

My fiancé will be moving from India to US. She did her masters from US but moved back due to some personal reasons. What are some options for her work visa? Anyone been in similar situation?
I was let go by EY last September, does anyone know if they are hiring back the people they let go? I am from tax. Given the speculation of oct visa bulletin, where it’s anticipated, similar to last year this year too the date of filing might move ahead 4-5 years, in this scenario my date might become current and would like to file 485 with EY since my current PERM is not yet initiated. Please advise.
Anyone else join a new project and realize you will never know what tf the client is doing. I’m very confused right now.

I’m new to the firm. My third project my manager was very hands off. He’s wants to have a discussion with me about my performance. He did not give me any support to work with; even when I asked! And my direct manager agrees with him, but it was my third week. What to do? I feel like I’m going to say something crazy. Any advice?
Hi!! Has anyone here interviewed for an AWS role? I’ve linked the role below. My dad is interviewing for this role and I would love to give him some tips on how to suceed. He’s super excited! I’m less technical and he’s an immigrant so want to help him prepare the best I can! Any advice on interviewing at Amazon in general/this role would be helpful! thoughts on ZS vs. LEK vs. Putnam for healthcare / LS strategy work? Currently Phd + 1 YOE (w early promo) - would lateral to ~Sr LSS in a LON office + relocate to NY within a year. Dilemma: giving up decent-ish culture & WLB / friendships w Ps / fast track to manager for greater diversity of strategy projects (current focus quite P&MA heavy). What would you do - jump now and diversify (to be a more rounded manager in more time) or stay (for fast tracked manager w narrower expertise)?
I enjoy PA and being partner would be tight but I don't want to sacrifice every other aspect of life. They always promote balance but they promote people who don't have balance. Just bad culture.
How long do people typically prep before applying for non technical roles to be successful? The behavioral, case and company research can be quite time intensive.
Feeling sick from anxiety this morning. Knowing I have to leave today and tough week ahead looming
Hi! Please advice and apologies if it's a dumb question. Currently filling out the h1b transfer questionnaire sent out by fragomen. In the previous stay section, what does receiving country refer to? Please advice 🙏

Opinions wanted-Does randomly calling on students using a random generator create an emotionally safe classroom? I had a very quiet class last year where no one wanted to answer (Precalc) and I called on the students randomly and that caused anxiety among some students. I want it to be safe to answer, but of course I don’t know the students previous classroom experiences with other teachers. What are your best practices?
Should I boomerang 🪃 back to Deloitte for high comp and to get into tech strategy? Currently have an opportunity at another firm. Would there also be a separate process if I go back?
Interviewing for a commercial role at Accenture, working in federal spaces right now and I cannot deal with anymore Big4 fed work. Any insights on Accenture? Do managers have revenue/sales targets? Do you have to have 10 different "firm initiatives" or other non-chargeable work to look good for promotion?
Hello Fishes, there are few questions hitting to my mind about PWC AC, can you please help me clear this. 1. Benefits included and when does my eligibility start at PWC 2. Should I be concerned for my career with lack of billable projects? Background: Analyst hired out of undergrad in July 2020. I have worked on 3 proposals in the last 2 weeks, and 5 in the last 2 months. In the past year since I was hired, I have 8 months of billable work which is actually slightly higher than the other Analysts I joined with. Should I keep collecting paychecks and hoping for projects, or is this a serious issue that should prompt an exit strategy?
If you are laid off (due to recession) right after joining a consulting firm would you have to give back the bonus?
