Anyone use smartsheet? I saw an ad and it looks like they beefed up their platform quite a bit…looks pretty good now.

Worked with it on an implementation project for the last 3 years and it was pretty neat!

Had used them pretty regularly until about a year ago.

Works really well when you need to upgrade your project management from a spreadsheet, and don’t want to pay for a seat for everyone who will need to use it. Unlike most other project management tools which need you to pay for every seat, with Smartsheet you can get just one account and others can all be guests. Helps with rollout.

Beyond that, I hadn’t been very impressed with the product. The basics (task hierarchies, Gantt charts, dependency management, etc) work well enough but there were many obvious flows (e.g. slack integration)which were very annoyingly badly designed (or at least made no sense to me)

I used them for 1.5 years at my last job. They are great! We use Asana at this new company, but the are all “similar”. Smart sheet is very intuitive and easier to get started than other project management and collaboration tools. Smart sheet also offers implementation consulting and will build out your sheets for you, at cost (so worth it to save time). Nothing but good things to say about them.

I just started using it, but not in-depth yet. So far it seems okay, just a different layout and some different features. Lots of nesting inside projects, sub-task within sub-tasks. They have templates, just like smart sheets so that’s good

It's been awhile, but I found it to be decent. Way better than Google sheets at least.

How do you use it? Is this in addition to like a Jira?

Worked with it several years ago, but not very impressed then.

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?

This group really makes me appreciate my situation. I am fully remote at a remote first employer who does not care where where I work as long as it doesn't affect my residency and pay in the territory I was hired. (ie working in Costa Rica and Mexico 6 months but need to be back in Canada ever so often to maintain citizenship status)

I have an offer at faang (400k +rsu), also fully remote but this group really makes me feel it's a mistake to leave.

Any faangs fully remote up for a chat?

How do I get better at sales?

I've done toastmasters and I'm fine normally as an extrovert. But tend to panic and not do my best when it's a high stakes work related moment to clients. Internally at work with my office teams, I'm fine.
Not awful, but definitely room for improvement with regards to my public client facing persona.
