I have used it. If the firm is paying, 100% use a traditional agency because that is covered by personal insurance, credit card supplemental insurance, and often a loss damage waiver paid for by the firm. You typically do not get any of this with peer to peer car sharing.
Really, the big strength of Turo is that you can drive nicer cars and still save 30% over hertz, enterprise, etc. Just keep in mind if you return the car with damage you will pay more out of pocket. There is also less consistency in terms of car cleanliness, and some car owners have been known to try to scam drivers by filing false reports (rare but still occurs). I have also heard that Turo’s insurance is hard to deal with, and often you may be on the hook for a significant chunk damages.
In conclusion, if you are a responsible drive and driving for personal reasons, probably go with Turo. Otherwise stick with the traditional ones
One more benefit: traditional agencies offer rewards programs to accrue points for future free rentals. Another reason to use if the firm is paying
Have used it twice - it was fine, but generally default to using corporate codes at major national chains. Easier experience, less potential hassle
