Anyone used their company hotline to report anything before?how does the process work? Is it truly anonymous? Afraid of retaliation

Depends on the hotline I guess but from my SOX 404 testing, they are absolutely anonymous. Voice scrambling, email encoding and the works.

Agree with K1. The firm should have a policy to keep your report anonymous and there should be no direct retaliation. But, if only a handful of people (or just yourself) knows about the incident you are reporting, then it may be easy to figure out who reported it. And of course there is always the problem of indirect retaliation.

But I’m just trying to make you aware of what the fallout might look like-I am not discouraging you from reporting! If you are considering the hotline, this is likely an important item and should be reported

Most companies have an anti-retaliation policy. You can choose to be anonymous or include your information.

Firm has a policy against retaliation but not sure if there will be indirect retaliation. Never submitted anything to the hotline personally

Long shot, but is there anyone here who has made a move from a US firm to a law firm or remote working for a US firm (or inhouse as a second choice) in Bangkok, Thailand? Interested due to family reasons but I understand that the legal market is pretty protected, so not sure how much of a long shot this is. Thanks!

You CAN be that leader that people want to work with. 1st, self assessment is required. Be honest: As a leader, have you engaged in/accepted Attribution Bias with a dash of gender &/or race bias? (See the pic) This is something we all need to be aware of as we lead our teams, provide performance feedback, & model the behaviors we'd like to see more of on our teams. Be on the lookout for Attribution Bias in yourself & on your team. It's a hindrance to creating a high-performing, inclusive culture.

Hi everyone!
The startup I’m with is growing fast and we are hiring Tech recruiters with at least 5yrs of experience:

I’m with them now for 3 months and I never felt as psychologically safe as I feel now — our Head of Talent is incredible, so as our leadership team as a whole. We have a true collaborative culture, and I am learning a lot with them. If you have any questions, feel free to DM or email me at laura@laskie.com :)

Additional Posts in Advisory in Accounting

Any advice I am and audit associate and I am interested are there any trainings or certifications that anyone here suggests so after the busy season I can be better equipped for a advisory rotation.

Any AAS recruiters here? FAAS senior 1 going into my second year in AAS and with Audit background before that. Just don’t feel hopeful for our raise that’s coming on Friday anymore. If any firm can offer 125+ in East region (nyc, boston, nj, etc) let me know. Putting my resume together now…

I had an initial call with a recruiter and got turned down about 6-7 months ago. I was having a really bad day (just found out a relative had passed, more than normal work stress, ect) and just really had a tough time gathering my thoughts. I honestly should have rescheduled the call but I just didn’t really want to have to push it out and coordinate schedules again. Any chance I can get a second look? The career path aligns with my interests and my background is a great fit.
