Anyone want to share a 2 bedroom apartment in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Ft. Green, Clinton Hill? I’m mid 30s M moving back to the city. There are some really nice 2 bedrooms for $6,000 to $7,000.

Honestly, with those crazy rent prices, look into buying if possible. Greenpoint/North BK is disgustingly expensive at this point. Good luck!

Crazy price. Im living in a 1 bdrm for 1750 in Astoria, queens.

Crazy right and how would you compare neighborhoods ACD1?

Why not just rent it by yourself?

like

You’re going to have a hard time because people who can afford 3000-3500 in rent typically don’t want to have roommates at that price point.

You can find luxury 2br apartments in LIC for under 5000.

No idea what it’s like at that price range, but I have been able to find Roomate’s for around 1k- 1500. With that price range, someone could easily find their own spot for 2k-3k. IMO, I would broaden your search location area and search criteria. I wouldn’t spend more than 2500. In 20 years in the city, I’ve never spent more than 700- 1500 with a Roomate. It’s out there, you just gotta look. However, if a glass palace with a 5 minute “commute” to Manhattan is your target - that price range sounds about right, and it may be hard to find someone. But I’m sure the view is great! Good luck!

What are 1 bedrooms going for in Hudson Yards?

You better have some sick views, a 15 minute commute, a bidet and a rain shower in that unit. That’s triple my mortgage in the outer boroughs

Have you looked at the commute! Live close to the office.

I have been at the current hospital I work at in administration for about 11 years now. I am treated great, love the people and love the hours. They allow me to really create my own schedule based on my needs and have taken great care of me over the past 11 years. The only problem is that our CEO has stated that we will never be a company that gives yearly raises, merit based or cost of living. I have been offered another job with a competing hospital but scared to leave. Advise?

Tax question - I make about $200k and get half of my income from a W-2 and another half from being an independent contractor. Because, I’m subject to pay both FICA and SECA taxes. Do my social security taxes get capped on amounts paid above the ~$140k threshold across both my W-2 and 1099 incomes or am I out of luck and have to pay more than that since only about 100k of my income is FICA and the other 100K is SECA (which is subject to ~12% overall including the ER portion)?

I received a pretty fair rent renewal offer (about $100 more a month) is it worth it to negotiate? Anyone heard of a leasing company not allowing you to renew if you negotiate?

My previous landlord is requiring me to get a form notarized stating I no longer live in my previous unit and that I have moved out. They won’t give me my security deposit unless it’s notarized despite me being moved out of the unit completely, and my keys have already been surrendered. The lease doesn’t state this form is required. Anyone else experience this before?
