Our firm is growing fast and we need to add another attorney to keep up with the work. Our compensation package is 20-30% higher than what others firms in our area are offering. I think part of the problem may be because we are located in a mid-sized city rather than a major metro area. I received an offer from a Series B startup that includes equity in the form of 25,000 warrants instead of ISOs or RSUs (which I have experience with). Has anyone come across this type of offer before? Are there pros/cons to consider when comparing warrants to ISOs/RSUs? Are warrants something to be cautious about?

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!

I am very happy at my current company. I have no plans of leaving any time soon as they pretty much give me anything I ask for and I am on track for management. I keep getting emails from other firms interested in hiring me. I was a job hopper in the past and always believed in hearing out other opportunities. Is it in bad taste to entertain other offers solely to use it as leverage to negotiate a higher salary? I feel guilty.

I’m currently an hourly union employee and I’ve been offered a position starting at .50 more an hour than I’m making now (generous for this company). My concern is: our union contract entitles me to a $1 raise next June. The new position is non-union, so I’ll essentially be getting a pay cut compared to what I’d be making next year in my current position. HOW do I negotiate this?
