Define intense? I did normal weekly travel when I was pregnant with my twins for a while.

like

Mck1 is this during the early stage?

like

To be clear - I’m not currently pregnant. This was about a year ago.

like

Mck1 what is it like working as a new mum? Have you shifted to local work?

like

I’ve had some colleagues in the past doing that, it must be exhausting.

The weekly travel can be intense depending on where you are going.

D1: totally agree! Just wanted to know if that's the kind of travel we're talking or not. Regardless OP, let me know if you want to talk tactically about how I managed it.

I traveled from the day after my first ultrasound until about 20 weeks in when I was grounded because of pre-e concerns.

Deloitte: I see there is an HR policy that allows you to go 60-80% whenever you want to/in any role so long as there is a business case. Does this ever happen in consulting? Is it more likely to be approved in certain groups/with certain skills? I’m thinking it might be feasible to stay here if I could could go on a reduced schedule after baby 2. If that’s something I could work towards and prepare for in the year or so prior, I’d like to set myself up well for it! Any insight is appreciated!

What do you think your firm will do to create work community locally if client travel doesn’t resume as expected for several years? At the moment, covid is still a factor preventing gatherings, but what about when we reach agreeable vaccination/immunity levels and there’s still no demand from the client to pay for consultants on site? Just thinking wfh is fine while in continual pause of normal but what’s next?

How do you teach a 4 yo when they start to lie? Today, my kid quickly put his lunch back into his box when his teachers turned around and lied to his teachers that he finished his food. They were even praising him on how quickly he finished his lunch today. And told us also that he finished all his food as well.

With all my flights planned on United through the end of year, I'll be only one PQF away from requalifying for United Gold Status. Is it worth an extra $89 and a few hours of my time to reroute myself to BOS on my way to LGA, just so l get the extra PQF to reach Gold? If I don't, I'll be at Silver next year, but idk what material differences are b/t Gold and Silver besides upgrades at 24h instead of 48h. Worth it?

I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!
