I would not advise for taking on debt, if that’s what Oscar Wilde meant.
You’re not born to just work pay bills and die. You have to make sure your bills are paid but it doesn’t do any good to live miserably and scrimp and save every penny just to die and let the government take half.
I would rather live a life rich with experiences and memories than die rich with a bunch of money in the bank.
But I also agree taking on a bunch of debt is a bad idea.
Same here both my parents are still living. But we went on a lot of vacations when I was younger. They got a time share in Orlando and would trade their week there for us to go other places and when it was an off year we took road trips.
We were solidly middle class and we always had food and clothes but I didn’t have the latest and greatest electronics and never had brand cars but they go us where we were going.
My dad is getting ready to retire and he has a good retirement from working in a trade all his life but he’s also not afraid to spend money on doing things he wants to do or buying things he wants either.
Love this!
That’s definitely not what he meant. It’s about dreaming big and working towards it.
🤣 true. But hey at least we’re still talking about him? More than most people can say
