I was diagnosed in the US and now live in Spain. I had my US psych write a letter with my diagnosis, which I took to my new psych in Spain, who chose not to re-screen me and I was able to get meds without issue. I don’t know if you’re on meds, but the only thing to consider is that there’s countries where stimulant meds are not prescribed often, so you may have an issue there.
This is really good to know. Thank you for sharing. I am moving out of the country and was getting a little worried about not being able to get my meds.
Moved from the US to Canada. Brought Adderall prescription from the US + history. GP was not willing to prescribe Adderall. Got referred to an adult ADHD specialist who told me that I obviously didn’t have ADHD since I was able to get a masters degree and hold onto a stable job 😐.
Struggled without meds for a while, hoping to will myself into working better. Didn’t work too well. Later on, managed to get referred to another psych who agreed to prescribe me Foquest and gave me a coupon for my first 2 prescriptions. That worked well, but way too expensive to get on my own, on a regular basis.
Ended up bringing back a bunch of modifinil on a trip to India, that has worked moderately well… 🤷♂️
