Anyone who went from Deloitte or any other firm to guidehouse? What’s your overall impression and experience? They are recruiting me pretty hard right now.

In response to someone saying we are just hiring bodies, I would have agreed with that 4 months ago but our recruiting team (atleast in healthcare) was just taken over by a (legacy) Navigant team and they are fantastic. I have been interviewing people the last 6 months and the caliber has changed drastically. Hoping it will continue in that direction. Other internal operations teams are being replaced or integrated with legacy Navigant people and I’m hoping things will settle a bit.

That said, I think right now it may be sector dependent (and honestly, maybe it’s like that everywhere). I had a great offer from Deloitte a little while ago and ended up turning it down and staying at GH. I have many friends at Deloitte who complain about plenty of things too. No place is perfect. At the end of the day what makes me happy is if atleast 2/3 things are happening: I’m on a good project, I have a good team, project is in a decent location (if traveling). Also, GH pays me very well.

@A1 - welcome! I’d start planning your exit strategy now.

I’d pipe in that we’ve seen the same on our end - Deloitte offering salaries to our people that are insane (way above what they pay their legacy people). Bottom line is that the labor market is competitive and both are companies winning a lot of work that they need to staff. Good people with actual fed consulting experience are valuable, and the work isn’t significantly different across firms. I love my team, exposure to leadership, and the ability to guide my career more than I would be able to at a much larger firm. We will be too expensive to sell again because of the Navigant acquisition - guessing we will IPO.

Agree w D2 on this point. Veritas traditionally only does sales not IPOs so expect a sale again in a few years

I left guidehouse because dumpster fire. But they’ve got the cash to pay well for the time being— need to retain bodies til they go public or sell again.

Yes indeed

I came to Guidehouse from Big 4 in spring 2019. I love it here.

what’s the service line you’re supporting at Guidehouse?

standards are lower because they need bodies—you may work with some recently hired inept nerds

but you can milk them for everything you can. Aim for the high end of the range on glassdoor for your position

I am currently making the jump now from D to GH, starting there next month. The managers and directors I talked with seemed really genuine and great to work with. I actually had another offer from a competing firm that was slightly higher, but felt like the right fit with GH. And it was a very nice bump to compensation!

I’ll be working with a legacy Navigant team. Not sure how much interaction with the federal practice there will be, but at least commercial side seems opportunistic.

Welcome! I made the move to GH last spring and I love it here.

Then you should be good. It would be different in a different sector.

Not sure you’ll like it but at least you’re in the right practice.

Had a meeting today and shared my screen. My most recent searches popped up when I was trying to pull up a website. Guess what was on the top of my list? “XXX Comapny SEX “ I had a typo when I typed SEC. I was trying to look up the SEC filings of the client. Better yet the meeting was recorded. I am going to turn off my recent search in google. SMH
