What are some reasons you used to get out of being pigeonholed in a certain practice/industry area that you don’t like?

Just got promoted to Consultant after 2+ years, 9% base salary adjustment + 1.5% bonus. Does that sound right?

I want to do so many things over the weekend that I end up doing nothing. I hate weekdays.

I’m having my first conversation with my McKinsey Professional Development Manager. Any tips on what to come prepared with to get the most out of it? How have you handled this relationship and how meaningful has it been? Still a couple of weeks before my start date.

What’s your least favorite part of consulting? I’ll go first. Airports..

My sister (15y) had this clash with one of her “friends” and now the whole group is going after her, telling her these negative, toxic things. I feel this will have an impact for her in the long run. I am supporting her and telling her not to listen, talk, nor interact with them out of self respect and to let it play out. She followed my advice, but it still hasn’t stopped. She is scared they might bully her. Should I take this in my own hands or let her figure it out and solve it herself?

I verbally accepted an offer and now am being asked to provide references. This isn’t common in my experience, is this normal? Also, does it look bad if I leave my current manager off the list?

I hate consulting and realized i’m just not good at it. I’m burnt out after 2 years and can’t handle the jargon, all day useless meetings, and general bullshit anymore. For anyone that has gotten out of consulting, what job did you switch to?
