Why do employers ask you to fill out a Word document job application during the interview process, even when you've applied online? I've got one for a job I really want and I'm heading into a final interview...but they want education and job/salary history, plus references, and it isn't a deal breaker but just curious as to why employers do this still.

We are currently contemplating a spousal carve out on our medical plan. We have roughly 5500 members including 1200 spouses. Is there a good argument for getting both PHR and SHRM-CP?

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. Hi I recently accepted an offer. The HR manager asked me if I was vaccinated I said no. So she sent me a form to sign for “religious beliefs”. I choose not to be vaccinated. Any ideas on what I should write on the form or explain myself.
