I received a 2 year continued service agreement costing $12,000 in effect fot individuals who 'leave voluntarily' within the allotted timeframe. Is it frowned upon by tech companies to ask about sign on bonus? I’m not in tech but the recruiter seemed really pissed off and offended that I asked about sign on bonus, and told me I should not bring it up during the recruiter call. Words, “I’m sure you are a nice person, but it doesn’t look good if you ask about sign on bonus during the recruiter call” I didn’t know there was an underlying rule like that, I really didn’t know its offending if I ask about sign on bonus.
