How is accrued vacation pay out calculated? I guess I'm wondering because we don't have a set hourly pay ..
Anyone else have "unlimited PTO"? Have you been able to take more or less time off than when you had a fixed number of days? I've been at my agency since before we implemented the unlimited policy and my manager has been stingy with allowing me to take time off, and I'm still not close to hitting the amount of days I used to have. I have a couple days this month that are important, I've asked about it once and got left on read. Not sure what the appropriate way to escalate this is.
Anyone else not fully enjoying the Christmas holiday due to anxiety of resuming work in January? It’s sad that it’s hard to unplug or to not think about upcoming work...
I work in clinical research and I’m under consideration to work for another research facility; however I hesitate because it’s a consulting position that can turn to permanent. It’s a huge pay increase (8-10 more) with benefits, PTO, etc. Any thoughts about consulting or temp-to-permanent jobs?
Has anyone ever been a contractor for any of the big 4? Just curious what the experience was like. I'm looking for more flexibility so was looking at this option.
Just got a promotion to go to 105k + 10% bonus unlimited PTO (trust me when I say I really use my PTO.. 😂) for embedded software engineer in Melbourne Fl. Should I start looking for a new job?
How do you stay organized at work? I know I have a lot of projects to manage and a ton of action items to complete, but I can only do so much before I forget what I was supposed to remember to do. I want to go into the new year strong especially when I come back from 3 weeks vacation.
Our company is moving to unlimited PTO starting next year. What’s the average time off you’ve taken per calendar year?
Any partners with alternative side business (e.g. a restaurant, reseller) and any restrictions in doing that while working for PwC/Big 4?
As an accounting major graduating in the fall, I am thinking about my career path and wondering how I should proceed. I don’t know if I want to do tax or audit yet. I did a tax internship at a midsize well known company last semester and will be doing an audit internship this fall with the same company. Is starting out at a smaller public company okay or should I go for the B4 and then move on in a couple years? I want a good WLB but I know with this career it will be tough to find.
I'm looking to get to an advisory role with a Big 4. I've been told that my salary is too high for a Sr role, but I don't have the sales experience for Mgr. Am I stuck in industry?
EY dude here that is about to be promoted to Senior (Assurance) in Bay Area. We get comp talks here in a few days on Aug.10th. Anyone hearing any rumblings or rumors of what this “significant pay increases” will look like? Thoughts from other b4?
What types of “time off”do you track? Curious to know what others do if someone has jury duty or has to deal with something out of their control (losing power due to weather). I have some employees who needed time off for the hurricane last week. Thanks in advance!
Is this real or they are trying to be funny? 2300 hour expectation is significantly lower than industry? I was working like 1800 at 85% utilization and some people get by with 75% utilization at big 4. Crazy mf
EY MD Poll: Before unlimited vacation we had 28 days (25 + 3). By closing the office in July and December they added 6 more days off , so apples to apples it’s 22. How many vacation days do you typically take in a year now?
A partner just walked from his office. By passed 4 or 5 people who are generally more knowledgeable on our banking logistics straight to the only black support staff employee to@ask if today is a bank holiday.

Hi Bob. The wondery podcast "business wars" did a great series on dunkin VS Starbucks. I'm wondering if you've heard it and what's your take on it?
Has anyone successfully negotiated a title? I was looking for Senior Manager positions but applied for some Mgr positions too. I’m up for promo next year at my current job as well. The current industry offer meets my comp expectation but planning to see if they would bring me in as a senior manager. There isn’t a set hierarchy for the team as of right now as they are building the team and I’d be reporting to a senior executive. Any talking points/tips that might help me negotiate?

Hi everyone! I interviewed for a job at the end of last year, went through interviews, assessments and made it to the last step which was the referrals and ended up not getting an offer. Now, I see the company is hiring for the same position again on LinkedIn so I applied again. But, I was thinking of reaching out to the job poster which is the same recruiter I spoke with last year. Since I still have her email, should I reach out via email or through LinkedIn inmail? What should I say?

I am currently interviewing with FORVIS for a tax SM position and have talked to about 5 different partners already. They all are very interested, and think I can help build the practice in a speciality area that they are currently lacking. After my last interview, I thought they would extend an offer, but the recruiter called and after saying how everyone has been really impressed with my background, she said another partner would like to talk.
