I am Taiwanese-American (woo!) and a first generation American. Creatives who are in-house: did you have to interview with any marketing people AKA the people who would be your clients if you were still at an agency?

For those with company equity or unit incentive programs, is it common to forfeit vested equity upon voluntary departure? Explained as a “retention tool” but essentially held captive by a payout since the contract says equity doesn’t fully vest at 100% until the company is resold. If I quit at any time before a sale date, I lose all of the equity that has already vested. This was offered to a few employees in leadership but feels like not that great of a deal to me. Is this normal?
