What's your agency holiday party like?

Is the EY 16 week maternity pay 100% of the salary ? I was reading the FAQs and could not find anything that said 100 % of pag provided in the 16 weeks of eligible time off.

I feel like my life has been stagnant for about 2 years. I have the same ‘meh’ day over and over again at work. Overall have every symptom of ‘burnout’. Outside of work I mainly lie around and watch tv. Only time I have a lot of energy is when I was on a beach vacation or when I drink a TON of coffee. I get big ideas about doing the things I enjoy outside of work but never do them. Dating life is nonexistent. I kinda think I’m depressed, but don’t want to go on meds. Any advice?

I love when coworkers say “Enjoy your PTO, it’s so well deserved.” Like what? It’s in my offer letter and part of my compensation, I’m entitled to it. We all are.

I just learned that the supplemental long term disability policy offered by my firm does not cover any disability caused or significantly contributed to by pregnancy or childbirth. This feels really discriminatory and unfair to me that the firm would only offer this policy. Women are expected to bear the burden and risk of pregnancy (often more than once) and if there is a complication they don’t get benefits?! Does your firm have this policy exclusion?

For those of you who went out of town but didn’t necessarily request PTO, what did you do in the instance where you had a morning flight which meant missing the first 2-3 hours of work? Did you communicate this to your team, resource manager?

I still plan on making up the missed hours later in the day, I just don’t want to have to communicate it unless I have to.

I’ve been on an H1B for many years with an approved I-140. Can I work outside of the US for 1 year (in Canada where I am a permanent resident) and come back on an L1? I understand the green card processing time on L1 is significantly faster.

hi guys! i wanted to ask for advice if anyone can help. currently i’m a scientist at a CRO and i’m doing work that is at least a title or two above mine. feels like im overworked and underpaid. i keep getting rejected to positions i feel like i can fill due to my years of experience. i technically only have been working since may 2020. but i have learned so much so quickly, im already doing method development/discovery work. should i settle for a job title below my current in pharma?

Right now I´m based in Spain but I will move to NY upon thesis defense (will hold all the necessary papers to work in the in the US).
