Interviewer: are you open to travel? Out of state and overseas. Me: I am open to that (calmly), Me (Inside): ANYTIME!!! Then u stuck with the same client 2miles from ur home for 15 month#storyofmylife
Should I join Deloitte USI as BA Consultant taxation with 11Lpa fixed (12ctc) or Societe Generale as BA in big data project 12.5fixed (16ctc)
What do the requirements for equity partner look like at your firm? How is origination handled (ie once you bring in a client every new matter is your origination whether they called you or someone else at the firm, whether you do the work, and even whether for insurance clients the adjuster assigning to a colleague doesn’t know who you are)? My firm has one female equity partner- who doesn’t have a family. How can I work to change the mold for others to get there?
Joining competitor, boss was shocked and didn't expect to lose me to competitor. I stated reasons as step-up opportunity, project focus, pay but boss is not convinced. Competitor has similar branding, more niche focus. Getting promoted to one level up is the key reason for me. Am I missing any thought process?
Was talking to a few friends who are B4 consultants and were mentioning there 100-200 person projects. I’m at a boutique and my average project size is 3-8. What’s been your experiences?
Little birdie told me a random drug test is coming our way at a non-federal client...definitely not going to pass. What do guys?
Currently at Deloitte with 1 year exp, just received an offer to join mbb. I want to exit consulting to work in media and entertainment - Disney, Sony music, umg, etc. Does mbb exit better into this area or will I be able to exit there with Deloitte? Don’t really want to reset in consulting but not sure what the path looks like…. For reference I am currently working in a lot of media project at Deloitte with like Disney, fox, etc….
Answered a client email at 5am today even though I rolled off yesterday. You won't last in consulting unless you find satisfaction in helping truly deserving clients. #dedication
I'm not ready to commit to serious dating and a relationship, but I also feel like everyone I meet either works for my employer or my client. Idk how to date über these circumstances.
No matter how many years I’ve freelanced, I still find it difficult to accurately (and fairly) predict how many hours a project will take in order to bid on it (and bake in revisions). Any tips or tricks out there?
Hello 🐠, I have been on a project that I do not like, has absolutely obliterated my work life balance, and put me under a lot of stress. Not to say this doesn’t happen a lot in our job, but I have an opportunity to go back to an old client that I loved. My current project leadership knows the date I’m set to roll off, but have been hinting they won’t let me leave because I’m good at my job. I am so desperate to leave and have been advised by multiple colleagues to do so. What do I do??
My project has nobody full time on it ( allocated under 25 hours) yet everyone is doing full time work and tight deadline. Is this normal? The client is also not responsive
I have something to learn from this guy. Next time a client asks me a question I'm going to have audio issues https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/qak967/never_go_full_wall_street_bets_on_national_tv/
How does Deloitte staff new experienced hires at the C/SC level? Are you assigned to a project right away?
So how did my client opened the week you’re asking? By telling the entire team (mainly consultants) that when the company stock was bottoming a couple of weeks ago they were looking to get out
While everyone’s situation is unique, it appears to me that there is a general (and substantive) difference between the mindset of senior execs/partners (Gen Xers) and the Gen Z/Millennial troops as to the need to head back to the office. There is a world of difference between “the office” as code for “client lunches, rounds of golf” vs “needless commuting time that will eat into a working day that is already unsustainable”. Do you feel your organization is in touch with where you are?
This is about internal reviews. The one that happens before client presentation. In my experience, these reviews have become very tasking over the last few years. Everyone is riding on assumptions. Biases trickle in. “Hey what about my idea?” is often thrown in. It maybe a thing in my agency. But if its happening at your place as well, how do you guys tackle it? It often happens that the client refers to the lack of idea that dies in these internal reviews. Any words of wisdom? Any insights?
Can anyone help me land an internship in private equity. I go the University of Rhode Island and would love to send out my resume. Companies I’m interested in don’t have internship programs but I’m not giving up. Let me know if you can help and I’d love to send my resume.
I’m curious to hear from people at other firms what is offered in terms of part time work or alternative work options for people that don’t really care about making partner and might want to work part time. I just had my second child and want to ask to come back from maternity leave on a part time basis but our firm doesn’t seem to have anything in place right now. If your firm offers this, what’s the billable requirement, how much of a pay cut is it, and do you still get benefits? Thanks!
