Does anyone know if the same 401k rules apply at EY as Accenture so they will cap the contributions coming for your check say if you hit the yearly limits in August? So if you hit the 22,500 in 23 there is no way to go over for tax issues. Thinking to frontload next year contributions if market is down. EY

Accenture way more laid back
So, I’ve worked in both, but in different departments (EY audit and ACN strategy). Keep that in mind:
>at EY everyone wanted to kill themselves, talked about crying all the time, said their managers were bullying them into unpaid overtime, etc.
>at ACN (I just joined) everyone in the team is enthusiastic and super nice, and they talk highly about each other’s profiles. They say the hours are pretty chill.
Now is this an audit/strategy or a AY/ACN difference? You be the judge.

Used to work at EY, but jumped to Accenture like 10 months ago. I like it a lot better, co workers are definitely sharper and leadership is surprisingly pretty good. EY did more social events for employees, money is definitely a little tighter here but we have had a few happy hours

For SAP, Accenture uses a regional model whereas EY uses a national model, but I felt more aware of what was happening at EY as far as sales and how the practice was doing. But of course more all hands calls means more sugar coating and BS from the top. Accenture seems more real and EY is more smoke and mirrors. Maybe that is because Accenture is publicly traded and EY isn’t (yet). But at the end of the day, it really comes down to what project you’re on.
Accenture in consulting is just much more mature. The culture is much closer to Deloitte than EY.
EY has some incredibly strong practices and groups but lacks the depth, training, and tools that Accenture has. At EY this can lead to select individuals getting overwhelmed and external PPED hires generally don’t understand that kind of gap that EY has.
Maybe it’s my practice but I wouldn’t ever recommend people to work at EY. Total meat grinder of an experience.
