Any advice on how to request a 20% raise? This is my first career out of college. I signed my offer letter knowing that I was being underpaid by 10%, as per the posted position salary. My 1-year appraisal is close and I would like to request 20% based on an increased workload; I would also like to make up for being underpaid my first year.

My dilemma: Many companies only pay up to a 4% raise. However, that will not cover much in this economy, and I would still be still underpaid.

I’ve received offers from both for Business Operations Associate & Senior Analyst (Performance Management), respectively. While the pay for ZS is about 20% more I’m more focused on the opportunity to grow in my data/metrics handling skills and access to professional development.

Both roles I think would be transferrable back to industry which is the ultimate goal, but looking for insight. I feel as ZS is the better move, but I also know it can be intense.
