Hi everyone, I am going to post an honest issue I've been having and I am hoping to get some advice. I left Amazon in July '21. I'd been there for 5 years, was being paid below market rate for my salary. I have completed so many assessments, data analytics tests, and been interviewed no less than 120x for 30-40 different companies. DoorDash, Bird, Coca-Cola, Uber, Flexe, GoPuff and plenty of others moved me forward for final interviews, but I have not gotten selected. What am I doing wrong?

I have done 2 interview rounds already for the Security and IT controls job, The first interview I had with one employee and supervisor of that department and the second interview I had with their manager. The first two rounds went well IMO I didn't expect the third interview which they sent with the VP of the department. How do you answer the question, "Why are you interested in this job?" when you are being recruited? I was being aggressively recruited by a company, with the recruiter calling me several times, telling me they really wanted me, etc. During one of the peer interviews I got the typical "why this job?" question. I didn't have my usual prepared answer ("looking for a new challenge", etc) because they called me. What would you have said in this situation.

I recently interviewed for a Career Coach position at a community college. Tomorrow, I have an interview for an Assistant/Associate Director for the career development office at a law school. Advice on how to market myself or what questions I can expect with not a lot of experience in my background would be appreciated!

Why are MBB so particular about B Schools? 😕 Inspite of having a referral from a partner in Bain and relevant experience, wasn't even given an interview opportunity. The only reason I can think of is my B School (just below IIM Indore and along the lines of NITIE, MDI, IIM Shillong) Could there be any other reasons?

What is the difference between Principal Design Strategist & Design Strategist? My current title is the latter and I’m interviewing for a Principal role. The title suggests it’s more senior and would appear to be a promotion on my resume but the jd sounds similar to what I’m already doing. I’m currently and IC, Principal is also IC. The only nuance I got from the recruiter is that there is no actual designing in this role. Is this a case of title inflation?

I have worked in municipal government for almost 17 years. I love what I do as an Inspector, but the environment is toxic, and administration horrible. I have an opportunity to go into the private sector side, as well a second interview for another municipality doing same job. Private sector job will pay 35,000 more but will be 3 hrs away my husband is in law enforcement and can’t leave due to his position. Have competing offers from EY and KPMG UK Economic advisory teams( Manager/Snr Exec level). KPMG's UK technical rep and comp offer is better, but the hours appear longer. EY UK Director has had several calls selling culture (diversity and work life balance). Is there actually a substantive emphasis on this by EY? Or are 50+ hour weeks quite common? I suspect it's going to be quite team dependent/ project dependent, and therefore a gamble in any case. Thanks for any perspectives.
