I'm hiring and I've just learned that my HR department is screening candidates by asking them about very specific functions and frameworks.

"Can you describe your experience using Element#remove()?"

"Can you describe your experience migrating from X framework to Y framework?"

We don't use Y framework and have no plans to use Y framework in the foreseeable future. I also don't expect candidates to have all functions memorized. How on Earth did they find out about Y framework!? 🙄🫣

My RE is saying my ovulation is concerning. They are not able to see the follicles grow before ovulation and ovaries were small post ovulation too. All my labs are normal and periods super regular. What could be wrong? RE says he can’t say anything until we do ultrasounds next cycle.

I managed to be hired by a really good company so naturally the impostor syndrome in me is now in full gear. Obviously, I must know things to have been hired, but I feel like there's so much I still don't know about product design. I got here through short courses and some books and articles and faking it till I made it. I am thinking to take a proper PD course now that I can afford it, if not to learn something new, then to affirm what I already know.

People who have interviewed with google in the past but did not get an offer. Did google recruiters ever reach out to you afterwards? I’m in a situation where I already accepted an offer from another company and google came back saying I passed to the last interview round. Even though google is my dream/end goal job, I decided to walk away from the opportunity. Best online course to learn UX/UI? Would need it to be pretty affordable.

So I just joined a team as a product designer under the pretence I would be acting as a UX designer.

In talks with product managers, they express that their role encompasses being advocates for the user. Which is great, but they also stated their role is to conduct interviews, determine and solve problems, and provide rough wireframes of their proposed solution.

They say they'll involve me in the process but I am worried I'll be boxed into being just a UI designer.

I'm interviewing for Sr Product Design positions & each interview is 30 minutes to share 2 case studies. With only 12 min/case study (I eat up some time introducing myself & setting up the work), does anyone have advice on what to make sure I show? It's so hard to hit all the points they I'm trying to hit: problem definition through user research, wireframes, design exploration, usability tests, prototypes, final designs, red lines, engineering handoff, KPIs. Any advice or examples?

I have a final interview today for my first role as a UX designer (career switcher). Today’s interview is with the CEO and other members of the executive team of this company, so not a design related interview. My question is, what questions should I ask? I will ask what their vision is for the company and other similar things but I’d love to get a list of questions I haven’t thought of. Also… I’m nervous! Lol

I was reached out on LinkedIn by a design manager for a get-to-know call. I have never done a screening call with a design manager before. I haven’t sent her my resume— She didn’t ask, and I completely forgot.
My resume has my portfolio website and a password, but I kinda want to chat with her before sharing my work, so she can see how passionate I am and I am willing to learn before she sees my work. Is it okay if I don’t share my resume before the screening call? Or omit link to my website?
