Hey Fb friends - need an advise. My current firm hasn’t stated my GC process yet and with current processing time it appears to be somewhere around 12-15 months time to get PERM approved. In addition my current firm needs leadership approval & they make me sign a reimbursement form in case I quit. I work on a relatively large team. Having an off day already and wondering how so many people seem to be able to keep it all together so easily. I have friends and family that just handle everything with such grace and never seem to drop the ball or have to scramble to find time or energy to put into all of their priorities/obligations. Why is it so hard for me to even remember to schedule regular maintenance things for house/car/health, etc.? Maybe this career is just draining my cognitive capacity. I'm so tired.

I lead a very small team. One of my employees was recently upset that a teammate was promoted, despite them being here longer. They are interested to get promoted themselves. This person's review is coming up and I really don't want to promote them. I don't think they are there yet, despite tenure. Someone could argue they are, though, suppose. If I don't promote in this round, they'll likely quit. I'm so torn on this. Would you stick to growth markers or promote for the sake of culture?
