About 6 months ago I applied for a team lead role and didn't get it. My boss, in recognition of my efforts (and maybe being a little scared that I'd quit) gave me a 13% raise, and minor promotion to get better clients. NOW I applied for another team lead role (2nd interview soon, wish me luck), if I get it, could withhold a raise from me? Or maybe short me on a raise because I already got a bump this year? I’ve been double-dipping with a full-time job when the full-time work is slow, but just got asked to do a freelance gig for an agency that’s owned by the same holding company as my full-time agency. Anyone know if taking the gig would cause any issues, potentially with payroll or taxes?

My manager keeps pushing me to insert myself earlier in the projects to be more conceptual, & I try, but I’m still being brought in late, without basic context from CDs. He says he can talk to them but it’s better if I do. He says he’s always available for support, but when I reach out, he’s impossible to reach. I can’t grow & get promoted without space and support from my team & I don’t want be too aggressive & have that negatively impact how my teammates see me. I feel stuck, any advice?

I was laid off recently from my role as my firm declared insolvency. I had an interview with Deloitte today (My background includes tier 1 graduation, work experience with investment banking firms as well as consulting firms) and the interviewer thought that they could arm twist me. The interviewer was rude from the start, didn’t let me finish sentences, treated my work experience lightly and later told me that the work is tedious and she doesn’t want me complaining later.
