The answer is always to just knock it out as soon as you can will yourself to. But, going in, to have a rule for how long you’ll spend, time- wise. The output is the output. Period.

I always leave it to Sunday night. We all need a break and working Saturdays after a long week is never productive for me. I make the negotiation with myself to get all my life stuff done first so I’m not thinking about what you wish you’d be doing while working. Also then it leaves a finite amount of time to work and it doesn’t accidentally take over your weekend.

Leave it until Monday.

Ask yourself. Why are you miserable? Is it the job? Is it the work itself? Shitty boss or client? Working on the weekend is like all my career. And every single person in advertising since the beginning of time. Not just COVID. Not saying it’s right but sometimes client needs are last minute. You have to evaluate is this mismanagement of the account that forces you to work the weekend. Or more. But being miserable Is a pretty strong word for having to swarm on a project or pitch if it’s with people that you care about. So the more honest you are with the source of your misery will tell you what you have to do.

If it’s a pattern, OP has every right to call their circumstances miserable. Even if they love their team, if that balance is consistently missing it can have huge affects on mental health and well-being. Working every weekend might have worked for you and your career I guess, but it should not be an expectation by any means.

I’ve recently accepted an ACI offer from Bain in a main office. What is everyone’s opinion on the outlook of Bain 5/10/20 years out? I occasionally hear remarks BCG and McKinsey are widening the gap and this has me questioning potentially re-recruiting. For context, I love Bain and the culture, but this concern paired with slower promotion is a little unsettling.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for new work actually. Currently working but I’m looking for more opportunities as my current role is a contract one. My experience lies within data science, data analysis, public health analysis, consulting, financial reporting, analysis & planning and project management. I’d appreciate if anyone could connect with me or help me out 🙂

Why does the third party recruiter I am using perform reference checks, and not HR/hiring manager from the firm I am interviewing with? Curious.
