Do any other firms have a policy that requires you to return to work for a certain period after paid parental leave, and if you choose to leave you are required to pay it back? If so, is there anyone who decided to leave before the end of that period? What happens if you can’t afford to pay it back?
Thinking about buying a single family home for ~600k in the next year or so OR pushing it out an additional year to get a multi family for ~1m. Thoughts? Current HHI ~175k, $40k student loan debt ($200 monthly) no other debts (credit card/car etc) Project HHI for option two ~210k. Let’s assume I can save 75k for DP for option 1 and 150k for option 2.

I work at a mid tier firm in an audit group of ~20 people. We’ve recently had two seniors and a manager leave, and I just found out another senior with a ton of big jobs is leaving in three weeks. I also just found out I’m being promoted to senior with a raise of 10%. In light of all these departures though, I kind of want to ask for more.... should I? And what % raise is appropriate? Any insight appreciated!

Did I need to get an H1B visa stamping if I’m in the US? I was on OPT and got my H1B while on it so ive been in the US since 2014, never left. It’s time to renew my H1B and the questionnaire is asking for my current visa info such as the visa number. I don’t have a visa stamp for my H1B because I was in the US. I do have one for my F1 that is obviously expired. I only have the I-747A for my H1B. Did I not get an H1B stamping when I needed to for 2+ years…?
