Anyone’s firm just not mention Christmas bonuses?? I don’t want to be the ass who brings it up but in my opinion that’s poor leadership.

Do we work for the same firm? Mine didn’t mention anything either. It IS poor leadership.

What’s a Christmas bonus?!

I don’t think Christmas bonuses are a common thing but maybe that’s just me. It’s more like a Christmas bonus/gift for the legal staff who don’t receive a “bonus”.

We do end of year so have to lollygag on dec 31 to know as soon as the checks are cut if you’re getting one

Q2 assessment with my boss today. I’ve been in my current job 6 months. He told me I was doing a great job, he had no complaints. He likes my enthusiasm and seem to identify problems find solutions right away. I asked about compensation, as he found out when I took this job it was only about 3k more than what I was making (but still above the hiring range, which I’m grateful for). He said he’d speak with the HR VP. He said as a director I could possibly be bumped up another pay grade. Thoughts?

I started at a litigation firm around 6 months ago. I took a pay cut for the position under the direction that the billable hours would be much less at this firm. As it has turned out this is not the case and if anything my hours have increased.

I plan on sticking it out six more months to total a year before I move on. Is one year enough time in a position to make a move?

Lateraled 2 months ago. Was part of a large group that was effectively two sub-groups. Worked for only one, but the other was familiar with me and respected me. Did not leave on good terms with my side. Other side said I could come back for them if it didn’t work out at new firm. I hate my new firm. I want to go back and take them up on that offer. Can that possibly work? I have doubts.
