Anything controllable that affects belly size besides diet/exercise for overall weight gain? Hoping to not get super big but don’t know if it’s primarily diet, genetics, fluid retention etc

I don’t think you have much control over belly size. Just trying to eat a well balanced diet and staying somewhat active should help. My baby has arrived and I’m wearing a belly wrap now to try and help things get back to their original shape quicker, but tbh I’m not sure it does much.

Lots and lots and lots of water. Surprising how the more hydrated you are, the less fluid retention there is

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I can’t function. I don’t have energy to do the smallest things. All I want to do is sleep. I don’t have to feel pain or deal with life when I sleep. I left my job because of this. I’m six weeks and have either a yeast infection or UTI (been awhile since I had either and symptoms since last night can go either way). Have an urgent care apt later today but worried about antibiotics or medications while it’s still so early and the risk of miscarriage or birth defects. Anyone been through this in first trimester?

Thoughts on asking employer if I can WFH during my 2nd and 3rd trimester? My doc said he could write a note to employer noting that it's my request, but I don't want my employer to frown at this.

For context, I no longer work for Deloitte and haven't informed employer that I'm pregnant yet as I'm still in 1st trimester. I have no real medical reason to WFH other than personal preference and added comfortability. Am I being lame or unreasonable?

My Obgyn is offering weekly classes that range from “childbirth” to “infant cpr” and mom/dad “meet and greets”. Outside of the cpr one which seems important, did anyone attend classes and find them useful? Or did not attend classes and wish they had? The recommended curriculum is about 20-30 hours in total over 2-3 months which is a time commitment. Thank you!

I’m just so sick of seeing pregnant influencers with perfectly round stomachs frolicking around in overly fashionable clothing. I’m 8 weeks and because I’m on estrogen and progesterone I already have a stomach and am so bloated. I have acne and just feel like a total troll. 30 weeks. Appetite is alright during breakfast and lunch, but it really drops starting at around 4pm. No appetite for dinner at all. Only wanna eat fruits. Anyone in the similar situation?

My 6-month-old is not gaining weight. The baby is in the 60 percentile in terms of height but the 3 percentile in terms of weight.
The baby is active and sharp; everything else is all good. The pediatrician has prescribed anti-reflux medicine but that hasn’t helped much. We say a GI and GI wants to do some trial and error. However, we are scared of the side effects. Has anyone been through this? What worked for you?

Ridiculous question but we are pregnant and so excited! But we just recently renovated our home (bought nice furniture, put hardwoods in etc) and my annoying brother and SIL just keep commenting on how much toddlers destroy homes and that ours will be screwed bc it’s very modern. What safety measures can we take? We have a family room and the baby’s room will be upstairs and is fully carpeted. It’s the downstairs/living room/dining room I’m mostly concerned about. TIA!

Anyone get dizzy/faint from Unisom for morning sickness? My morning sickness is so brutal that it’s almost worth it, but wondering if there are better solutions. Also using accupressure bands, gum, lots of small meals, and ginger. None seem to make a dent. If you have any other tips I’d really appreciate it!

Pregnant with my first baby and I’m having the WORST sciatic nerve pain. I had a back injury with nerve damage when I was in my early 20s and at 18 weeks pregnant, it’s almost unbearable. 36 weeks pregnant, and this past weekend I got a sharp stabbing pain on my right side. Not lower area just in the side of my stomach, I took Tylenol and felt better for the day but then last night again same sharp pain. Had to call the on call doc and she said it could be muscular/skeletal pain. Has anyone had this? It’s a dull constant pain right now but for some reason at night it picks up! don’t think it’s gas or bloating.. :(
