I would go for an apartment instead of a condo. They are cheaper.
Rentals - shiplake, greenwin, park property, metcap
Areas - yonge and church, davisville, Wellesley billage
Much appreciated !
Welcome!
If you think you’re going to be at the office a bit, check out the waterfront around York st or queens quay. Alternatively around union station is also good considering where your building is
Thanks :)
If you like a bustling area and walking distance commute, I would recommend the entertainment district, it’s between Queen/Front and University/Bathurst streets. Lots of condos in that area, I’ve lived there 5 years!
Areas I don’t recommend and why:
- financial district (near waterfront and union): completely dead after about 6pm. No neighborhood feeling. You’re purely living to work
- anything east of Yonge St: It’s sketchy, more homeless people
- city place (near waterfront): condos are low quality, nearest subway is 20-30 min walking distance so not as convenient
- ICE condos: avoid this condo like the plague. Google it if you need to see why
Transit tips: street car and subway are good. Can be busy peak hours. If you can avoid a commute, rent somewhere walking distance!
Great tips!
I live in city place and find it quite ok. Just choose one of the older buildings towards Spadina
