Apologies if this was already a post, but does anyone here do freelance forensic work? If so, what do you do? This WFH makes me eager to start freelancing and growing a side hustle but unsure where to start. FWIW I have a CPA and CFE.

I don't know your firm, but BDO wants you to report to the firm if you have a side job. And freelancing something like expert witness or litigation support is a big no no.

like

You definitely can’t do this at most if not all firms. That said, I know plenty of people who left entirely to do freelance expert witness/litigation support work once they felt they had the network for it. I’d imagine the demand for freelancers on the risk/compliance/investigations side is probably much weaker though

Toronto banks: remote or not? They sometimes post jobs where it doesn’t say it’s remote, but no branch/ location/address either. So, if you work at TD, Scotia, RBC, could you let everybody know in the comments what’s the deal for each? Are you remote, on-site, hybrid of some sort?

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
