Applicants including pictures of themselves in digital resumes. why is this becoming so common? Is there a source of advice out there suggesting applicants should include photos of themselves when applying? Personally, I strongly dislike the practice.

I would agree - I think it comes from all the social media platforms ? I would remove any photo before a hiring manager reviews as it could lead to unconscious bias’s playing a part in the shortlisting and selection

I think it’s weird and doesn’t help when trying to implement blind recruiting

It’s a European practice to include photo as well as married status, children and age... I’m used to it but prefer not.

Unless you’re applying for a modeling job, I don’t think pictures should be on resumes. It doesn’t help with people using unconscious bias through the hiring process.

Hi, what is the number of days Cerner takes to release the offer letter? I have completed 2 rounds of technical interview and got confirmation from HR that the interview feedback is positive. Hi all,
I had my technical round scheduled with Capgemini last week. This week I cleared the L1 interview round and HR discussion. Before releasing the offer letter they asked me to submit my documents and sent a link to appear for an AMCAT exam (English grammer and email writting) as part of hiring process . My question is based on AMCAT score is there a possibility that Capgemini would revoke my offer ? Is it an elimination round as they mentioned this a part of Capgemini hiring process?

I had my 1st round of interview with Executive Director and 2 leads for Technical role. I have 2 queries-
1. How many rounds should i expect in total considering I clear everything? (I think my first round itself has technical + manger/director)
2. How long (time) will it take to get an offer?
TIA :)

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

Need some advice. I was asked to apply for a senior digital marketing specialist role (the lowest title I’ve applied for, looking mid-senior level). I applied and they offered me the position, but are telling me I need to start out at the regular specialist level. To me, if I interviewed for the senior title, and I can clearly do the qualifications needed since you offered me the role, I should have that title. Thoughts? Supposedly the reg. specialist role is senior in their org. structure.

I get the perspective of team unity, but is it wrong to feel there is no reason to risk my health? I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks - lauren
