My joining in Amex is on 2nd august and I have received laptop as well but I would not be able to join. I will be returning laptop back. Why do companies send laptop before joining? Isn't this can be done after. How to handle such case when they ask to deliver laptop but you are on final stages of some other company

Anyone had a scary hookup exp? Last night this guy came over. He was super rough and in the end I just wanted him to leave, which he did. When he was stepping out, he stared at my door apt number. So I put my door latch on. After a while he came back! He was drunk, claimed he lost his ID. And it scared the hell out of me when he said “I’m not going to hurt you”. (Door latch is on with a crack). I looked and nothing was there. Told him so and he left. Now I just hope that I never see him again.

I’m a junior working for a midlevel who imo doesn’t understand that seniors/partners can check in on something without that meaning they need it right that second. For example, we’re drafting ancillaries for a closing that’s at least 3 months away, they initially asked for drafts a week out. Partner then asks if they are in process.
