Looking for supplemental income? If you're not already burned out from teaching, you could teach ESL online to kids in China! $20-26/hr, flex schedule, early mornings, evenings, weekends. They are legit companies and I work for 2 right now. Read the blog and see for yourself. https://realwaystoearnmoneyonline.com/teach-english-online/
Plan transitions. A middle schooler has an attention span of about 12 minutes (1 minute per year of age) As an observer watching, I’d be watching how you interact with students and how you transition them from one type of activity to another. Humor is great to diffuse interruptions but don’t be sarcastic. Depending on subject matter, you’ll want to engage them in conversations/ with table group or elbow partners, then share discussion high points either in large group or with another group.
I LOVE middle schoolers most of all❤️
All kids depend on strong relationships, but this is double for middle school kids. Remember that they are in the middle of the biggest brain growth in this life and that all behavior is communication. When kids misbehave try to not take it personally and think about what are they trying to yell you.
