PwC asked me for official transcripts as part of my background check. I accepted my offer in October as part of campus recruiting, then the following summer after graduating they wanted the final official version of everything.
You’re boned.
PS I was hired with less than a 3.0, you don’t need to lie to get hired.
So let me get this straight... you want to work in assurance and your introductory handshake to a company you want to work for is to provide fraudulent application materials? Good luck.
Well I’ll be the first to not welcome you to the Big 4. You’re in a profession of integrity and clearly have none.
Of course they ask for official transcripts.
This has been reported to human recourses. An investigation has begun.
Lol this is so dumb. What a stupid move. How big is the fix?
Wtf KPMG 1? At least don't put your company name when you admit to something like that. Makes us look bad.
You’ll get caught eventually and it will be grounds for dismissal. Withdraw your application and reapply elsewhere using your real transcript. If it’s not what you’d like it to be offer an explanation. But don’t lie
In summation, you done fucked up
You won’t get caught. If you get the offer the submission of your official transcript is just a formality. I did the same thing. Nobody really looks at it
I know someone wh did the same thing a few years back and got walked out during new hire trading. Bad move, it will be discovered!
I was an experienced hire and they didn’t ask for transcripts. Of course I graduated in 1995 😂
I suspect the fix up has to do with gpa which I assume is on his resume too. So the typo excuse likely won’t work.
You can withdraw and admit what you did. Unfortunately honesty here will likely get you unofficially blacklisted.
So your best move is probably to withdraw for personal reasons (keep it vague, accountants won’t pry) and move to another university Enroll in some classes to double major, learn language whatever. But go involve yourself in the acctg program somehow and get hooked into the recruiting process. This time don’t lie about your gpa. The combination of multiple schools transcripts may shield your past lies if someone goes looking. But remember that any firm you interviewed with has your resume and bogus gpa on file. You may just have to avoid those.
Regardless of how you handle this, do not start work. If you get hired then fired, it will be much harder for you
“Fixed up”? You lied in the application process, so yeah, we hope they will, and none of us want to work with you ever.
Lol so true^
Are you asking me to help you figure out how to get away with committing fraud? I think you need to look into another profession
You absolutely need to either withdraw your application or send an updated application with real details and apologize for the typo asap.
Your integrity is your biggest asset as an accountant and you lost it before you even started your first job.
Did you lie about a degree or a gpa?
^ Damn autocorrect! *who, *training
