Case interview prep and a slight resume reorientation to get strategy pings. Because apparently I've been hit up by CapOne and Google now for strategy. I'd like to keep both doors open but really double down on a path that gives me the rarest/most marketable skillsets possible.

I think deep learning would be more valuable long term. You might enjoy strategy more though and may get access to higher level folks. It’s not like either decision will be bad so I would choose what you like to do more.

Yeah totally agree. For now, I know I enjoy technical work. Know less about strategy since I haven't done a lot of that at Deloitte. But want to keep both doors open since I care a lot about high level / broad impact, whether that's shipping a cutting edge product or talking to execs. And I'd like to do the latter in the future, so long as I know I have the skill to do the former as well.
What’s your background at Deloitte curious?

Data science R&D for the public sector. 3 YOE.
Research on a methodology, building a product, scaling it, and applying it to niche problem sets.
I made post about this in the general consulting bowl too haha... I am having a similar experience
I would go with the deep learning job. There is no guarantee you will get the offer at Google anyway. I have heard internal mobility is very possible there but not sure if such a drastic job change from strategy is easy.
Smart play is to start and focus on the Amazon job while entertaining the Google conversation. You haven't passed the phone screen yet, let alone received an offer, so don't worry about anything at this stage. Learn about the opportunity and pay to see if it makes more sense for you now, later or perhaps never.
Be sure to understand if the role is strategy as you define it. Google's Strategy & Operations roles blend strategy and execution, so there's a chance that 20%of your work is strategy and the rest is PMOing some initiatives (operations).
