Anyone know what this office is doing? Contacted by 4 recruiters for roles there?
https://www.nsparc.msstate.edu
The work looks interesting, they built this app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ms-works/id773775917
And their research gets published into actionable information (which is something I am interested in): https://www.magnoliastatelive.com/2022/04/05/state-auditor-report-shows-that-brain-drain-real-issue-as-half-of-mississippi-graduates-choose-to-leave-state/
I’m curious about them but imagine they pay shit wages…? Anyone know any idea of what kinda salary number I should look for if I go through with interviewing? I absolutely would not move to Mississippi and would only take remote for this …

Sounds like someone with 25 yrs experience is already creating a toxic working environment before you are even on board. Run!
I’m aware of two EA roles in our segment at Siemens. Neither are posted as senior but both VPs are great people. Let me know if interested, I’ll dm you the reqs. Sorry for the hassle you received after getting through the entire interview process!
Told it doesn’t matter all that matters now is years of exp and title of the executive you support ( which is high up exec).
Salary is lowered . Asked for sign on , she said we have 3 other strong candidates so we won’t do sign on. Asked about rsus im leaving behind and she said « thats up to you. Not out problem » lol. Basically she said take it or leave it, no negotiation.
She was so cold and short vs being nice and supportive since day 1. I have a feeling she messed up since the beg and this should have been EA and she is covering her ass.
Anyways i cant take this offer its a demotion from my current role and from what i applied to. Demoted before hired.
What would you do? I am tempted to email the HM and tell them directly why i will decline this offer and include all details above.
Also would be curious if from now on their Senior ea role will require 25 years of exp? This is ridiculous.
It’s not atypical for Cisco to do this. They still have the old mentality of “everyone wants to join Cisco”. I had at least 2 offers fall through with similar experiences. Worked out for the best for me since I had Google’s offer in my back pocket on the last offer.
If you really want to join Cisco, then you have to live with this BS
I am trying to leave Cisco :)
