Tell me if this is selfish or not. I adore my family, but since they're doing a very lowkey Christmas situation this year, I really would rather take a weeks vacation on my own. Obviously the holidays are about spending time with those you love, but I'm tired! And I see my entire family at least once a month for a group dinner. Am I a bad daughter/sister if I choose vacation this one time?
Do they decorate for the holidays where you work? I work at a pretty large hospital and they do the eaves and the trees outside, but I'm thinking of making some paper snowflakes and maybe getting a mini tree for the nurses station. Good idea? I don't want to offend anyone just thought it could bring some holiday cheer as corny as that is.
Anyone interested in providing a referral to FireEye, Inc.? I have over 3 YOE in consulting. Thanks
Oddly specific but can anyone confirm if Snowflake is actually actively hiring corporate counsel? I see them repost the same exact post every week for about a year now, and I’ve applied a few times now (spaced a few months apart) but never hear anything. Wondering if it’s a phantom job post or if they’re actually looking for different/more experience than described?
Has anyone worked in the disaster recovery Space and went directly into fraud? I’ve worked on disaster recovery projects as a Quality Assurance Analyst. Essentially we make sure no fraud is occurring. I haven’t had any luck finding a remote fraud role without my applications getting denied. I’ve been thinking about getting my CFE, as I’m sure that might help.
Has anyone here worked for Mercer in a non-consultant/client-facing role, specifically in the Chicago office, and can share their experience (Did you like it? How was the work environment, etc)?

Currently at 145 base as an InfoSec manager (industry not consulting) in large southeast city. Got offered a privacy architect position in the same city. Is asking 170 base too much?
Macro work ideas for LCSW in Indiana but remote is preferred. I’m looking to gain experience in more of a supervisor/ director role and/or something more on the macro side. Any ideas? Open to part time side gigs as well if remote. I’ve considered getting a MBA in healthcare at some point but not sure if it’s actually worth it or not.

My three year old is losing his fingernails and toenails!! Two fingernails and one toenail (so far) lifting up from the cuticle base and falling off from the root.
The pediatrician said it could be from the HFAM that he had a month ago. Any other mamas experienced this before? If so, did your kids nails grow back? Is there anything that I can do to help this?
It’s painless for my son, but it is really worrying me.
Folks on the job hunt - do you feel like more companies are trying to fill open roles before the end of the year or waiting til 2021 to hire new headcount?

So I’ve been talking to this guy I met on a dating app. And we’ve been talking over the phone and FaceTiming for about a month now. We live in different states but would want to meet up. Is it reasonable to ask if he’s talking to other women? Or is that pretty standard with these dating apps to be talking to multiple people until you both decide to be exclusive. Just wondering if it makes sense to ask that now or I’m probably just overthinking the whole thing.
Hii - been trying to network and create an LGBTQIA alliance within the ad industry. If anyone might be able to point me in the direction of alliances or movements of that sort comment plz :)
Hi Big4 Fishes,
My KPMG HR had verbally told me that I would be eligible for the relocation benefits once office resumes...and a annual bonus ranging from 10-30% of CTC
But there's no mention of that in the OL...
Shall I ask her to generate a new OL or not required?
Following on from the other thread ☺️ any ladies in Austin that want to grab brunch, or lunch, drinks, or dinner?
Am I being too judgmental? During the interview process I ask questions that help me identify culture. During my recent interview I directly asked “How would you describe your culture?”, and it was described as “work hard, play hard”. I expected a much more meaningful reply. Thoughts?
Anyone regret going into IB?

My wife is giving birth in a few months to our first child. Should I take the full 16 weeks? Four months seems like an extremely long time. What about utilization and bonus? Getting replaced in projects and initiatives?

I am interested in moving to another state and realized that this state has one of the most restrictive reciprocity rules in the country. I've passed multiple bar exams. However, I won't get any credit for time I worked in CA because CA isn't reciprocal. I swore I'd never take another bar after taking CA - and now I have to take another exam if we move. I worked in big law in CA for two years and get no credit! Yet the exam has been waived for new grads for COVID. It sure limits our move.
I just started watching Suits (I know, I am behind). What are your thoughts? It seems pretty good, but I can’t get over the bouncing between areas of practice. The reality is that we don’t go from pro bono cases to patent filings overnight.

Why did ALL our clients go from radio silence to “We need to sign the SPA on 12/31 at 12PM sharp” in 1 day? I was supposed to go on vacay on the 28th. Hmpf
I’m in-house with an opportunity to go back to a big firm. There would be a substantial increase in comp (about $260k all-in currently vs $325k plus bonus potential at the firm). I currently have excellent WLB - that would take a hit at the firm for sure. While the billable requirement would be 1500, the lack of predictability is the biggest drawback, especially with a young family. What would you do??

Low. Expect a response the week after the holiday. You can always ask the recruiter what his expectations are, but assuming this firm is busy (which must be the case if they are hiring right now) people are busting their butts to wrap up loose ends prior to the holiday.
Very low. Most people are out or only handling the absolutely necessary things during holiday week (which isn’t admin/recruiting stuff).
