Applying for some MPH and MS epidemiology/biostats programs at Harvard, Columbia and JHU and also thinking of the Duke Healthcare analytics. Is MPH valuable at all or am I wasting my time? I am trying to push more into trial design and clinical valuations + outcomes research.

I make more money than my friends who went to Emory for their MPH. If it’s something your interested in, go for it, but it’s not gonna be a financial benefit.

This. Those schools are expensive and you will see zero financial benefit.

I’m no expert whatsoever, but in terms of value I usually encourage people to go MBA with a health care focus or some kind of dual degree to get the most value. Also keeps your options open. That said, sounds like you really want to go down the healthcare track for the long hall, so in my opinion the degree track you’re going down sounds smart.

like

Ah yeah as an SM with that experience plus these degrees I think you’ll be a perfectly positioned SME here. Nicely done!

You could look at MBA/MPH at Berkeley, added bonus of being around a ton of Bay Area biotech, pharma, and data science in tech. I have an MS from JHU school of public health, loved my experience there but the degree letters themselves were not super impactful.

Are there any other programs that might be a fit here? I’m looking for programs at the intersection of (health data/RWE) x (analytics) x (clinical trials)

JHU would be the strongest in this area.

Just get a cert. You don’t need an MS to do trial design or outcomes (all patient research us outcomes, ftr)

PhDs do more trial design then MPHs. If you want to do something really clinical...

What are realistic career paths for BDRs that do not want to be an account executive? I have been a BDR for 4 years now and looking to get out of sales but unsuccessful so far . I’ve interviewed for social media roles, BDR manager roles , always falling short on what they are looking for. Beginning to think I’ll just have to accept a career that I hate that brings me no passion and try for AE role. My ideal role would be in product marketing or social. Any advice?

Does anyone have any info about the program for very long-tenured IFS staff, where the firm will pay for your health insurance after you retire if you meet certain tenure requirements? Something like, if you’ve been with the firm for over 30 years by the time you retire. The firm may have discontinued this but some people are grandfathered in. Anyone have details?

Received an invite for a superday very quickly after applying to Goldman. Recruiter never sent me the zoom password and then the password failed to work so everything started a full 15 minutes late. Interviews went great including a “they’ll definitely be a second round” but then I received the rejection email the next day. Do we think the tech issues played into that significantly or just my interview not stacking up to other candidates?

Background:Asia, expecting to promote to M this cycle. Looking for some advice on being headhunted/jumping ship. I’m speaking to HR from another big 4 + a recruiter for another firm for an M role, and it looks like the $ and potentially benefits will be bigger, but I’m not that keen on moving unless the $ is a huge jump. Any advice on how I might navigate this? Have interviews next week for the other roles.

Was told I’d only have one round (4 interviews), each split 50/50 on case/behavioral. This is for an Associate position and will be interviewing with AP/P/SP level. Is this typical? Since I see most people have multiple rounds.

I’m an immigrant with H1B. Been wanting to get out of my firm so badly but every time I apply outside, I start getting dragged into work at my current firm.I was going through some pretty rigorous interviews (I failed them) and have been in a slump since. Meanwhile my current firm keeps dumping work on me and I can’t find the time to apply outside. Anyone been through something similar? I’m losing hope. The politics is also so toxic, they started screwing me over since my last performance review.
