A 20/45 target is hard to envision. How about 20/20?

This a joke??

I purposefully set my target retire year to be about 10 later than actual. This way the fund can be more weighted towards stocks and less bonds

It’s like 3X more, from what I see.

Hi OP, I’m not going to pull up the specific tickers and research expense ratios but a 70/30 between domestic index fund & international is pretty safe. Looks like FID 500 Index and VG IS TL INTL STK MKT are decent but you’ll need to do some homework on the expense ratios.

like

Based on a quick google they appear to be pretty similar. The zero fund is only two years old as supposed to >30 on the other so it’s probably a new fund to appeal to a new demographic who is hyper sensitive to expense ratios. Not positive on the specifics if anyone more knowledgable wants to chime in.

If 10%+ of your portfolio isn’t in crypto, you’re just being goofy.

funny

How old are you and when do you want to retire? If you are like 40 now, is the 2045 retirement year correct?

I see. I set mine for 65 (not FIRE) and to your own, probably a little later than what I want. It’s also about the other investments and/or places you may want to cash out in

Can you just set the target higher, like 2060? Assuming the system will automatically rebalance and allocate more to stocks.

you can, but the expense ratios are meh so it’s not particularly appealing

I'm about 60% FXAIX (500 index), 25% FBGKX (Blue chip growth) and 15% PRJIX (T Rowe mid cap growth). Growth has done well for the past decade, and especially in 2020, but not sure how much longer it can keep going up. I've been moving 5% out of each growth fund and into the 500 index each quarter as I'd now like a little less volatility.

So here’s my strategy. I’m planning on retiring at 50 but I’ve left my target funds for 65. From 50 to 65, I’m hoping to sustain on cash flow from investments and then have the nest egg ready later in life.

My firm was one of the firms that gave covid bonuses but did not specify whether everyone was getting it. I didn’t make my hours this year because I was on maternity leave and a bunch of my cases ended 1-2 months before I went out so I had lower hours before I started my leave. I couldn’t make up for those lost hours when I was back since I was working from home with an infant because of covid. I didn’t get the covid bonus, which in my mind is ironic considering the circumstances. (Cont.)
