Thinking about moving to a big city with the following preferences. I am thinking about Dallas, philly, or Chicago. What’s your experience living in those cities? Is there any other city I am missing? 1. Growing economy and population 2. Great food scene and things to do as a young professional 3. Relative LCOL can’t afford housing in NY, SoCal, etc. 4. Diversity of culture especially a bigger Chinese presence
Can someone explain the logic why Deloitte is posting for month same position in multiple locations and not even looking at applications? Chances are applicants are picked up by quicker acting companies.
For those of you that exited to Facebook from Consulting, what role did you join? And how do you like the company culture, workload and relocation (if needed)?

Thoughts on GLG? Offer in business development team. GLG not finance but need reach!! Got 24 hours to respond. I am a finance analyst but offered a job in the team and wondering how hard do they go in on sales? They said no financial targets until year 2 but I’m sceptical. I’ve never done sales before either and the job involves prospect and account mapping. I was offered the job due to my transferable skills. I will be in a small team of 4 but my role is the only business development position.
Hello, Could you please guide me with the salaries of senior consultant in Big 4 in Canada ? I know that it varies based on location, but what would be a competitive salary for Toronto , Ottawa and Vancouver?
If you were selecting a school solely based on culture/student experience, where would you go?
London 🎏 what's the Big4 better positioned in cybersec, risk and privacy in terms of culture, clients and team ?
Is there any probation period in mindtree? In the offer letter it is not mentioned. How is the culture and wlb and job security in mindtree. Mindtree folks please suggest🙏
Fitting into bro culture is a learned and valuable skill. It sucks, but it feels like it’s necessary to move forward in this industry.
How is the cloud engineering practice at PwC WLB, culture, projects, colleagues. I’m also located in Philadelphia can anyone make a guess at pay for an associate level?
I see a role within a team that I’m interested in but the experience level is low under the minimum qualifications section, which leads me to believe I may be too senior for this particular role (L4). I’d still like to learn more about the role and team so would be happy to chat with the recruiter even if I’m over qualified. Thoughts? Do the different levels have pay band? I have about 10 years of work experience in my industry, 7-8 of those years in my field. What level should I aim for?
For those roles in non strategy such as risk or implementation, does any of the mbb recruit out of non targets? I'm a master's student in business analytics in a non target in NYC, and I really am interested in an implementation/ risk consulting at MBB. ( Different from big 4 risk)
Received an offer for 50% base increase at non-faang tech in product but the role is not set up to succeed. I’m leaning toward turning it down to find something where I can succeed, but the title and $ are great for the next move. WWYD?
Does anyone know acceptance rates at big 4 type firms versus boutiques? Most assume big 4 are harder to get into and more prestigious than boutiques or lower level firms. I’m at a mid tier firm so I’m fairly neutral in this. I’ve worked with highly intelligent, and highly incompetent, consultants from either type of firm. Would love to hear your thoughts on this and any data you have. Sometimes I wonder why big 4 is so highly revered when work products I review are less than stellar.
About toxic work culture, will you know it when you see it? what if it was your first job: what would be a red flag for you that the culture was toxic?
Just for stats: how many times did your firm apply for your H1B lottery before it got picked and approved? I’ll go first - 5 times and still hasn’t been picked ever 😅
Received negative feedback from my manager for the first time, I’ve been working for a few months now and this is the first time it’s happened; over arching theme was quality of work and communications etc. feel really shitty about it and I’m not sure how to deal - any fellow female fishies have words of advice or anecdotal insights, did you manage to turn it around? I really want to do a good job and take this very seriously - def want to leave the project on good terms with the manager
Can any Boston Consulting Group fish provide intel into whether U.S. offices are hiring right now for Consultant positions (starting in January 2022)? I applied earlier in the year, but was disappointed to not to be called for an interview. I’d love to try once more and any help would be appreciated!
Can anyone suggest which company to join . Taking in consideration this compensation and also any lay offs history , if any ? - Persistent systems 14 LPA - Synechron 13 LPA - CGI 12.5 LPA + 1 LPA joining + some shares every month - Siemens 12.5 LPA + 1 LPA joining
Hey all, is anyone familiar with Fidelity Investments’ change management practice? I saw some job listings recently for their change management positions and was curious about the work culture and expected compensation range for someone with 10+ YOE.
I currently work in a HCOL (LA) and have decided that this summer I want to move to a MCOL (Chicago) that isn't an office location for my team. Am I right to wait until after YE comp discussions (end of Q1) before raising this with my company? We don't have published comp bands and I know there is some pay disparity between the two locations. I want to make sure I am getting what I deserve bonus/raise and then negotiate any pay difference after
Sabotaging the shoot at every opportunity because you’re angry your boyfriend didn’t get to direct it isn’t going to magically make the client trust your creative decisions the next time around.
Got notified that my EAD card is being delivered to my place. Didn’t submit my medical record with I-485 so I’m hoping to receive the RFE for that soon now that EAD is almost here. Has anyone been in the similar situation and did the medical exam before receiving the RFE? Is that allowed? Wanna try to mail out my medical exam as soon as I receive the RFE to cut down time!
Does anyone work for WittKieffer and would be open to discussing a role/referring me? DM please 😬 @wittkieffer
Does anyone know if KKR is back in the office? I have an HR screen coming up but honestly wouldn’t move forward with the job if it’s not remote friendly
100% remote lit positions in big law?
Do you think Alvarez & Marsal will require employees to get a covid booster shot and/or seasonal flu shot?
I want to demo a mobile app via a Zoom conference call. Any suggestions for a mirroring app that I can use to do that?
What are peoples experiences and thoughts on requesting to work remote every Fri? It was healthy for me having this in consulting... Seeing if I can ‘secure’ this before accepting a StratOps offer...
MBB - I’m a current senior graduating from a top public school, and I am debating on whether to accept an offer to a masters (non mba) to an Ivy League. One of the factors into my decision is what is the propensity that the resume gets pulled for on campus mbb recruiting, given that undergrads are probably applying as well? I have big brand internships already, and my undergrad school probably scores a 2/3 for brand name. Will recruiting teams put more emphasis on your latest or 1st degree?
On h1b visa and have an offer from outside. Other firm has started the transfer process & and it will 2 more weeks to get approval. So basically have 4 weeks before joining. I have very good relationship with PPMD and SM. Also I am a key person on the project with good rapport with clients. I really want to let the Partner / SM know that I am leaving in 4 weeks, so that transition can happen smoothly. What are the cons of giving a notice in advance, what's the worst that can happen?
