Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all:
1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features?
2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google

I always did this at every FAANG I interviewed at. Very common at Meta, less common at G, so probably helps a little more at G
I just sent the thanks to the recruiter and asked her to pass it on.
I always think thank you notes are needed. It’s just politeness.
Like others said, send to your recruiter and ask them to pass along.

Nope. Don't expect it and honestly - don't want it.
Won't impact my review and will just add clutter to my inbox
I know this is coming across as mean....but it's the truth
It's a nice gesture, but make sure to do it asap or it is meaningless. It's been a while, but I think the interview portal they send you actually can facilitate it. If not, send to the recruiter. That said, I've never received a thank you in the 3 years I've been at Google for any interview and it has zero basis on the interview ratings and recommendations. It might make the recruiter feel more favorable though. Historically, I'd say it is a much more effective gesture at places where you actually know who the people are. Given Google's process is first name only and no future connections get made, it is far less valuable than it is at other companies.
Don’t think it impacts it. I had my interview results in less than 24 hrs after onsites, no time to even craft a thank you lol
Yes, I heard back that I passed the interviews next day. But this team match stage is taking forever 😭😭
I ALWAYS send a thank you note. if you didn't get the interviewer's contact info, send a note with your LinkedIn request.
also...what is a "virtual on-site"? sounds contradictory :D
i do the same, if i don’t have the person’s contact send it through linkedin.
in my experience people appreciate it if it sounds genuine and not like a c/c template
How do you send the thank you notes if everything coordinates through recruiter? You ask the f or email directly?
Agree with G1. Did the same thing. Isn’t going to get you the job, but certainly a polite courtesy that I 100% recommend
