Approximately Rs.7.5 lakhs for coronavirus treatment in private hospitals per person. Noway a common man can bear this cost. I sincerely pray god that my country will escape this pandemic soon

Dear fellow fishes,
I am a Columbia grad and a creator of sustainable artworks — works that are chemical free and have minimal to no impact on our Earth. But, whatever I am I owe it to mum. Few weeks ago, I came home to parents coping from a severe bout of COVID. Mum has been hit the most.
In this recovery, art has been her companion. But fear and doubt of her awesomeness stops her from sharing her works to the world.

Happy Diwali to the FB family!!!
Something doesn’t add up, isn’t quarantined facilities or isolation wards are mostly run by the govt. run hospitals? Why would someone end up in a private hospital? Just curious to know
D1: govt allowed private hospitals to treat corona patients. To increase bed capacity in each town, city. I think that’s still a good move. That way, at least rich & super rich don’t hold beds in public hospitals that can be used for poor.

Imagine falling sick here OP, that’s worse.
Yes I am actually not worried about me or someone in particular. Our country in general. There is only 1 bed for every 1000 patients in India (including public & private hospitals). And, if avg corona treatment in private hospital is around 5-7 lakhs (let’s say) then most of our people cannot afford private medication and public hospitals will give up very soon.
I am just worried that how we as a nation survive this in coming months.

Yeah it’s not great. I’m hoping we have elevated levels of immunity in India that will help. Not sure if that’s scientific reasoning or not.

States are building isolation ward staffed with govt and some private docs. Center is doing its part as well - for example railways has converted dozens of its coaches already into isolation wards and more coaches are being converted. Can't force private sector to do anything.. Altho SC today has passed a judgement that private testing for corona has to be free of cost. Wrong judgement. SC shouldn't interfere like this with Executive. Wrong precedent
