Just wrapped my first year in analytics for due diligence. I’m a finance-savvy data guy, not an accountant. Mostly work with SAAS-model targets. Most clients are PE. Am I on track to work PortOps in the next year or 2? Do I need to get an MBA or a technical master’s before applying? What other exit ops are out there for me with 2-3 YOE?
Accenture is hiring aggressively for below mentioned roles.

Feeling completely burnt out on this entire profession. I think I’m ready to leave public, but I’m not confident things will be any better in an industry role (based on the crazy workloads I’ve seen my clients deal with).
Am I being overly cynical?

Hey everyone - I am trying to get an entry level position in cyber / info security. Got my BS Cyber and Info Security in 2021. Have 5+ YoE in IT Support. Based in Chicago. As a junior strategy consultant who’s keen to work in PE, would a CFA or CAIA be an advantage when applying for an investment role in the future?
How would it look to switch firms with less than 1 YOE out of undergrad? I am not loving my current role and it seems other firms are hiring now. I am worried if I wait I will miss out on what appears to be a strong market.
I am currently looking for some entry level job opportunities as a clinical data analyst, or a public health analyst. I'm not sure where to start or if anyone knows any openings? Thank you !

I'm a sixth year helping to interview a lateral (4th year) candidate. What questions would you ask?
Anyone ever ask about PTO policy during interviews or at the offer stage? Didn't do that for my current job and now I wish I would have
I’m curious to hear people’s thoughts on moving up (particularly within biglaw) with the goal of being a star litigator. I’m very interested in becoming the person whose added value is my litigation skills, but when I look at partners it seems as though most of them are valued more for their ability to market and pull clients in. Is marketing the only way up in the biglaw model?
What does it even feel like to be good at your job
Applying to both biglaw and boutique firms for after my clerkship. Have already worked in biglaw before. Can anyone speak to the benefit of going to a boutique instead? Do you like it much better? Thanks!
May be a silly question but more of a sanity check…
Party A (licensee) signed a non-exclusive license with B (licensor). B subsequently signs an exclusive license with C (second license).
Does the signed exclusive licensing agreement impede on A’s non-exclusive rights, OR is the exclusive license subject to the prior non-exclusive agreement? OR is the “exclusive” license automatically deemed non-exclusive but still valid?
Note: the initial non-exclusive license stands in perpetuity.
Sent a partner an MSJ on March 15. He sent comments at 11:55 today. I have a time sensitive appeal due today that I’m working with the paralegal to get everything ready. I told him won’t have time to revise the MSJ, let alone get the affidavits from our clients/experts signed but I could get it ready for Monday. He’s upset because “this really needs to be done today and when he sends things to an associate, he is counting on the associate to get it done.” No question, just needed to vent.
First-year associate here. I’ve gotten research assignments where, even after hours of research, I haven’t found a clear answer. I know this can be normal, as there’s not always an answer to a research question, but I can’t help feeling bad for not having an answer to bring back to the partner/assigning attorney. Sometimes I worry that I’m just not a good legal researcher/working efficiently. How do you all approach this situation?
What is the one thing you would change about discovery rules if you could? In CA I’d implement mandatory disclosure of all damages by Plaintiff at the time of filing.
My grandmother died and the funeral was Friday. I took Thursday and Friday off. I let one of my supervisors know what was going on, told the other two I would be out, and got all my assignments in order. I let another partner im working with know I’d get her a draft motion by Monday because I had a funeral. Then our client emails us, and she’s sending me emails like “call me in the morning to discuss,” etc. Can I assume that she just didn’t read the funeral part? No one acts like this, right?
Frustrated with work as we all are. Single mom insurance defense litigation for mid sized NYC based firm. Base salary is 136k nominal bonuses. Struggling to meet work demands (deadlines, billable hours) and then also struggling financially. Just curious if what I am making is going rate, am of counsel after taking 6 years off of practice 10+ years practicing. Thanks!
Feeling underwater since around October, and decided to finally bring it up to my boss—now a senior associate is questioning exactly how busy I am, and seems rather interested in my workload and how it’s handled. ?s started when told to temporarily stop sending new projects my way. this sr. associate generally does not get too involved (never online), doesn’t pay too much attention, little to no feedback. No substantive projects. This reaction comes off as hostile. How to handle?

Looking to lateral from a partner position (non equity without a significant book of business) at a large insurance defense firm in Miami. I bill 160-200 hours a month but have seniority and flexibility to drop off kids and be in office by 8:15 and be home around 6 each night. What firms are hiring in litigation in Miami? Comp ranges are appreciated too!
How do depositions on written questions work? Since the questions have to be sent to the other side in advance, can opposing counsel just tell their client what the questions are and coach them on the answers?
When Judge denies my MIL because issues of admissibility are best dealt with at the close of evidence.
Check your state's civil rules. Most states allow amending at trial to conform to the evidence.
In my area of the country, binding arbitration is presided over by 3 volunteer practicing attorneys, mostly plaintiffs lawyers.
In this case, our complaint is filed for two intentional torts, but not negligence. However, as the case has developed, negligence is a strong cause of action here. Specifically because the intentional tort is part of a doctrine which also provides that a Plaintiff will succeed in negligence under this theory under certain facts, which are present in our case.
We plead negligence and contributory negligence in the counterclaim. Defendant clearly did negligence, and it is technically raised in the pleadings. Anyway to let some duty of care/breach of duty come in, because the doctrine of our intentional tort also allows for a finding of negligence? Not sure how much we can get in at binding arbitration, but it would be huge to show some negligence.
FWIW, we were outside the SoL on adding negligence by the time I discovered we should add it. I was added to this case very very late at close of discovery.
Can you try to amend?
Sounds like a matter that should be reviewed for malpractice and not for suggestions on a forum. Good luck.
