Anyone able to give me a referral for Facebook (Meta) or Google?
I am a paralegal with 8 years of experience in the legal industry (+ Fortune 500). I was just diagnosed with a serious health condition and I’m looking for new remote position, that is challenging and offering high pay and benefits. Facebook (Meta) & Google currently have openings for positions that align with my skills. I kind ask that you simply share some tips, if you are unable to offer a referral. THANKS!

The pilots are saying "but did you die" 😂

It is true that hours standards have declined, but why do you think the pilots influence that flight experience?
Turbulence? Pilots have little control over that, they rely on reports from other pilots on where it is located.
Delays? Once again, not much a pilot can do about it.
If you’re talking rough landings then yes, you have a point.
The short answer is no. There are FAA requirements that must be met in addition to airline requirements. If you experience delays, it could be anything from short staff due to COVID, mechanical, weather...if your experience is in flight, could it be the barrage of unruly passengers? Turbulence? There are systems now that can identify turbulence ahead and help the pilots avoid it... So I'm curious what made you think it was a pilot problem?

Not a ton they can do about turbulence.
There are turbulence forecasts, but they are very much directional in nature. They cover rather large areas so navigating around them isn’t really a thing.
What mostly is done is Center tries to navigate aircraft around areas of known turbulence, typically by changing altitude. It works kinda like this: Center gets a PIREP (pilot report) saying turbulence is bad where they are. Center will recommend changing flight levels (altitude) and then ask them how the new altitude is. If it’s better they’ll often adjust the flight levels of nearby aircraft to avoid the troubled areas.
There is a ton that goes into what causes turbulence, some we don’t really understand at all. It’s mostly trial and error to avoid it, as well as the basics like avoiding storm systems.
I was a Navy pilot and have a bunch of friends in the airlines. It’s not really a comfort issue, but a safety of flight issue that there are fewer and fewer ex military pilots in the airlines. Military pilots constantly train for emergencies, so when they actually come up, for example Sully, they are far better prepared than someone who when to civilian flight school and started as a CFI and then small commercial runs.
It’s getting better as they are paying regional airline pilots better and some of the big carriers are hiring directly. It’s a far cry from the old days when my grandfather was a TWA pilot and had a fantastic life.
It takes 2 years to become a commercial pilot so no, the turbulence you experience on a fixed plane route is not COVID related.

Probably true.

Spirit, for now.
Just feels like the avoidance and handling through turbulence has gotten worse. I know it’s uncontrollable weather factors but in 3 of my last 5 flights I’ve had the turbulence be so bad the pilots have told the flight attendants to strap in. Did consulting for three years pre covid and that only happened once. Climate change maybe idk
Are you flying to the same cities now? For example, every time I fly to Denver, we strap in before descending.

If we can learn on the job, why can’t they?😉
