Are all blue light glasses created equal? Do more expensive glasses have stronger blue light protection or is it all the frame cost?

Following because I want some but don’t know what to pick

Warby Parker just started selling blue light glasses - I like my pair quite a bit. I know you can get them without prescription as well.

I've got both a cheap pair (online) and an expensive pair (optometrist shop) and I do notice a difference - less of a yellow tint to everything

Interesting. At my opto they sell the options in tiers. The blue light filter is only available in the top tier, so you need to get all that other stuff too.

My optometrist does sell this option, but also told me that there really have not been any studies that prove that blue light filters are beneficial.

Ditto Warby Parker blue light filter + prescription. Got a few months ago and love them

They are not all equal. Check out Ra Optics, you need them to block specific wavelengths and the only way to find out is using a spectrometer or go with a bean d you trust.

Ra Optics will even fit them on LV, Gucci or other brands I'd you send the glasses to them.

Are there any pros to staying at a company and getting laid off, vs. proactively looking for a new job and quitting before it happens? I.e., financial (possibility of receiving severance or any other benefits). Or is being laid off just all bad? I don’t know if my job is at risk — I don’t believe it is — but my agency lost some clients and is talking about cost cutting to be safe and get ahead of it. Fwiw, I’m ready for a change anyway.

Hey San Jose!

Any F 🐠s around?

I have a call on Monday for an in house job where I’d be drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts in areas that I’m not familiar with. I applied to the job because it’s in an industry I’d like to break into and at a company I adore. To note, I’m currently a first year lit associate. What questions should I be prepared for regarding transferability of my skills? Is there anything else I should be aware of?

I’ve just started my second warehouse job and I’ve noticed the same toxic resentment between warehouse and office staff. Is this the norm?

I work in accounting/finance and have been at my company for over 10 years. I am planning to leave and put in my notice right after I receive my bonus which is right around when “busy season” starts. Unfortunately more than half of my annual income comes from my bonus. I feel terrible about this because it will cause my team to work extra hours during a busy time, but the company is toxic. Any tips? I don’t want to burn bridges with the non-toxic folks.

Need some advice: I work on very fast paced projects and I get irritated with coworkers who are not as committed to the project, work slow, and their deliverables have quality issues.
I believe we need to deliver top notch work and I usually bump heads with a few of my coworkers. Any tips on how to deal with the situation from a mind frame perspective? I am looking for something insightful and not “take a deep breath and have a conversation”

My director gives me the worst anxiety. His tone of voice, constant interrupting, policing my greetings to client (hi vs hey), blast of pings that always seem to require immediate attention, constant pinging on the side for no legit reason while I present to the client, asks to perform tasks with little guidance and then gets angry when I get it wrong, “why would you do that” for non-issues. I truly wish he gets his karma one day

Resigning from my job. I’ve agreed to help my manger train new members, staying 1 extra day and agreed to not take pto during notice. My manager who is upset I’m leaving is throwing so much more work at me on top of the training - which may cause me to stay later. Is it ok for my manager to act this way or what are some best practices to push back?

Boomerangs who left consulting for long did it take you to realize you made a mistake? Now that you're back in consulting, do you like it better than before?

I'm currently doing my internship at Simon-Kucher (4 months), and love the job I do. However, the long working hours (it was 14.5 hours yesterday, for example) is killing me everyday and gives me no space to relax and improve myself, or even reading a book. Now, I got another internship offer, including a full time one, from P&G's Finance department. Though I'm not a fan of finance, it offers me decent working hours, a lower salary (but not much), and a nice career path. What do you think?

I received a strong offer from another company. I'm certain Deloitte will not be able to match it. How does Deloitte manage this when you give your two weeks notice? Does Deloitte give you two weeks to transition? For how long do they cover your health insurance? Any other thoughts and advice are welcome.

So a client manager and I used to flirt a lot, though I kept my distance because obviously dontwanttofuckshitup! Now that she is leaving the firm, is it okay to respond to her moves?
