Thoughts on “pay by the mile” car insurance like metromile ? Live near NYC, spouse and I both commute to work everyday using public transportation, share one car and only use it on weekends.
Has anyone done adult teeth straightening in the city? is the in-network cost (approved fee but no insurance coverage) usually the same among different dentists? I was looking at the estimated fee from my insurer saying that the original cost is 8k, but since it’s an in-network dentist, the cost would be 4K, and I’m 100% responsible for it since I have no orthodontics coverage. Does this make sense?
Any commissioned corps officers here? I have always wanted to go into the public health service but there were never open calls for scientists until a year or so ago. How did the application process go? My background: PhD and MPH grad. Currently working as a federal contractor.
EY - are tennis rackets and tennis lessons permissible under our $500 fitness reimbursement program?
Currently a teacher but looking for a career move. What are jobs that a teacher can move to without having to go back to school? Everyone says don’t leave because the benefits are good but when health, dental, and vision rates are rising constantly and I could do my own retirement plan in a different field I’d argue the benefits aren’t something to keep you in a position any longer.
Is anyone just tired from the end of last year or tired In general? I feel like I’m way more tired than most people. Im thinking perhaps people just aren’t talking about how tired and overworked they are. (And no I’m good health wise just had an annual. Just tired 😂)
Had my 401k in all VINIX last year, and it served me well. I rebalanced to 20% large cap, 20% mid cap, 20% small cap, 20% Int’l, and 20% bonds. The Int’l diversification is pulling me down significantly. Would you shift that 20% back to large cap or just say it will payoff later to diversify? My IRA is pretty yeah heavy, so trying to be mindful.
Consulting and govt work has taken a toll on my mental health. Need to switch careers entirely but I’m back to not knowing what I want to do. What other lines of work can I transfer my skills to?

If I accept an international move to the UK, will I be able to bring along a parent as long as I am willing to be financially responsible for them? Have an old mom who lives with me and don’t want to leave her behind alone (I’m an only child) but also don’t want to let go of a good career opportunity. Willing to buy medical insurance for her if it’s available (she is in her 70’s).
Setting up a 401k for the first time. Did you decide to do pre-tax or post-tax? Why did you decide that? Retirement savings and options are all overwhelming!
All this inflation talk... Time to move 401k into bonds/stables for capital preservation yet? What's your take?
Fellow fishes! It’s time i start caring about my retirement. Let’s say TC is 225k. I am 31 years old. Should I have both a 401K and IRA? And, which should be traditional and which should be Roth? Appreciate all love and insight/guidance and explanations ❤️.
Just realized, I didn’t max out my 401k this year. Any way I can still contribute and count towards 2018 cap?
What’s the best way to make use of company tuition reimbursement policy? I want to do a certification (already have pmp) like Apics CLTD or Scor-P. Which one is better or any other one I should consider?
I’m taking the next two weeks off and really want to spend the time improving my looks for myself. Like everyone else this year has been tough and I completely stopped just about all beauty/health self care. What are some things you love to do to improve your appearance for yourself? So far I have: 2adays while trying new types of workouts, teeth whitening, at home hair treatments, mani/pedis!
I left my former employer in Q4 2019 but didn’t rollover my Roth 401k prior to the crash, so I’ve left it there this whole time and it’s rebuilt nicely (not back to where it was, but closer)...cont
I'm in my first year and have been struggling lately with wondering if law school and this career was the right choice for me. Is this a normal thing to go through when starting a career? I've also been struggling with mental health a lot which I'm sure contributes but I have a few friends who have said they feel the same way about being an attorney - has anyone else experienced this and will it go away the longer I'm in the field?
Just here to laugh at all of the insecure overachievers that exist at the high ranks of this industry. PSA to all of you Partners and those aspiring to become one: chill out. Your neuroticism is hurting your health and your marriage.

Anyone from AP can tell me the difference between an SVP and Director, beyond comp? And how fast can you get promoted to Director?
HR/human capital/PAS consultant 🐠: If I have a Masters degree in HR and 2 years experience, is it worth it to get the aPHR or SHRM-CP? Or is the Masters degree enough? Should I wait for SPHR/SHRM-SCP
Would a SHRM certification be beneficial for a consultant in organization strategy? Anyone in a similar boat?
Can't decide if this thinking is crazy or smart: Staying in consulting for another 1-1.5 years for good maternity healthcare benefits and smoother pathway to ramp off and back on work, with opportunity to extend leave further with limited professional risk (e.g., in corporate a backfill might become your permanent fill). Worried that this A.) could result in staying much longer than planned B.) would still ultimately result in crazy consulting hours and C.) wouldn't go as smoothly as idealized
How do you improve selling-idea skill as an analyst? For example, if I have a tech idea, how do I communicate that to non-tech people (manager and above). Any learning resouces that I take a look? Books, videos, courses? :)
How do you deal with non-accepting family members? I don’t make it a thing, but I’ve been advised to take off my tie and change into more feminine clothing around them. I am okay with not discussing my personal life, but I don’t feel comfortable changing my dress. So I just don’t keep in contact with those relatives. A therapist told me that I am not secure in my gender identity if I am not willing to take off a tie and show compassion to a family member who would be upset by it? Am I selfish?
Need points help: current Delta gold, only 7000 MQMs from plat for 2017 but current project ends soon and expecting to fly Star Alliance. Should I stop before hitting plat to carry MQMs for 2018?

I have bad Sunday blues. I feel like I should just take xanax and go to bed. I am in a bad covid cycle of binge eating, starving, drinking too much, then being rigidly “good” for a few days then spiraling into the cycle again. I feel doom and can’t get off my couch. I went on vacation w family and had a good time last week. Back home alone I feel in a funk again. Funkier than Cold Medina. Just wanted to share with someone.
Amazing leaders, I have been facing some resistance from our offshore offices and need some guidance. Context, I am an Indian and been working in US and Basel for many years now. My offshore office in India is all men (similar to my US and Singapore office), however the moment they realize I am Indian, their attitude towards me changes drastically. For example, the team leader in India office (also 10 years older to me) in a global conference call said that the project needs more experience cont
