Does it surprise you that a company whose bread and butter is BSing clients all day would also BS its employees?

I asked this in the NYC bowl a few months ago. Most people (kindly, not all) told me to just GTFO. I'm WFH in Miami now.

Netflix also stood out with its culture by stating we are not a family, we are a team. There’s a difference. https://www.forbes.com/sites/brettonputter/2018/12/04/netflixs-company-culture-is-not-for-everybody-and-thats-exactly-how-it-should-be/?sh=519f1c841880

All this is well and good in theory but you would hate working for a company where everyone from the ceo to the mail room clerk has this attitude. I doubt such a company would even survive because of the absolutely terrible environment it would create. Its much better to work in an environment where people atleast try to be nice and accommodating within the bounds of a professional relationship. Yes profit is the overall objective and certain people (senior people) gain more of the profits than others (juniors) but there is also a softer side to it — upward mobility, personal or professional growth etc. If you really have an issue with how deloitte or consulting treats you then you can jump but the grass is always greener and you’ll have a tough time anywhere with this attitude.

Amazon. Or any sales job

I feel like this is the case at most high level companies / industries (eg consulting). If we like you a lot we’ll pay you a lot and if we don’t we won’t pay you as much and then the writing is on the wall

Has anyone here gotten pregnant with someone they were dating vs married to? Can you share your experience? Is that still frowned upon in 2022? I know culture also comes into play for some. Even though it seems we are more progressive now - none of my friends had kids before marriage. Especially those with professional careers etc. It seems like the whole first comes love then comes marriage and baby thing is still standard. Does it really have to be though? Especially if you're in your 30s.
